edmonton new immigrant and housing_ pls help

Hi everyone, just landed in edmonton with my hubby and we are finding it difficult to get a rental property as they are all asking for current job. And obviously we don't have a job yet, only been here for less than a week. Please advise me, we need to move from the hotel cos it's so expensive and we are unable to do other important things that needs an address.
