Congratulations!!! Finally we are reaching to successfully get rid of cic. ;)
Thanks for checking on me again.

DM is a big relief for me. Now i can wait for few more months as i see that we get into pending for months and years till DM in most cases. Yes i think that it will move ahead fast while comparing to pre-DM.

What is DM?

Here is my timeline to encourage others! I believe from DM to oath for Edmonton moves pretty quickly now plus the oath e-mail comes super fast when the oath status has been updated.

Application sent- March 6, 2020
Application received- March 12, 2020
AOR- Aug 5, 2020
Application in progress- Nov 5, 2020
Background check completed- Jan 20, 2021
Test invite/Request for passport pages-July 23, 2021
Test completed- July 31, 2021
Passport pages sent- July 31, 2021
Test updated to complete on tracker-Aug 3, 2021
Reached out to MP for update- Dec 6, 2021
Response from MP with same information as my tracker- Dec 12, 2021
Decision Made- Feb 7, 2022
Oath ceremony set to in progress- Feb 14, 2022
E- mail on oath ceremony received-Feb 17, 2022
Oath Date- March 24, 2022

Sincerely I cannot wait for all this to be over including passport collection. At some point, I wanted to reach our to CTV news as it was almost 24months already.
With the opening up of the province and employees returning back to office from March/April, I am sure things should move faster than the regular timelines. I'm also hoping to ask for expedited service for the passport irrespective of the cost. The wait of two years out weighs the price differential for me and just want to get it over with.

Thanks everyone, together we shall beat this.

Congrats!! What a wait, but I'm happy it's almost finally over for you.

It's only $50 for Express service (2-9 days), so it's obviously worth it!

Hi! Sorry for distrubing this thread. What was the email address you used in making some follow ups to cic edmonton? Is it the email cic used to send the invitation for citizenship test? Cause I am worried that my citizenship test status is still 'waiting on you' while my husband's 'completed'. We just took the test on the same day. Driving me nuts. :/

That's okay actually, I've seen many cases like that. It will change eventually, trust the process.

Thanks for the detailed information. This is really helpful. From your message, It doesn't seem as if the MP emailing is of any use. What do you think? Did you send any email to cic or call them? Congrats on your ceremony tomorrow.

No use, because it was same info on the tracker. It infact was a waste of my precious time, as I had to complete the consent form for my family of three twice. The first one was returned because I didn't put our middle names. Just imagine the frustration. That said, it might be beneficial for someone else. My MP did mention however, that if i hadnt heard back from IRCC by April 12, 2022 I could follow up again with him.On IRCC I didn't call nor e-mail as i knew the Edmonton Office rarely responds to emails asking for status update. In summary, it was a lot of anxiety but I just waited it out.

My goodness!!! Thanks for the information. It was really a long wait and it is now over. I guess, I and others still waiting will just have to keep waiting. Did you just check the tracker when you noticed the change in your citizenship ceremony update or an email was sent to you?

No e-mail notifications sent at all. Kept checking, which is frustrating. I created a short cut of the tracker on the home page of my phone so was so easy to check whenever I was free and scrolling through my phone. Infact the only email notification received was for AOR and all others I kept checking almost every two days from when my test was completed in August 2021. I had my ceremony this morning and all went well. I could only say, 2years wait for a 20minutes speech, Oath swearing and singing of the anthem haha. All the very best to us all.
