hi all , i am from edmonton, here my timeline
application send july 7th 2014
application recieved july 11 2014
application in process october 2nd 2014
application tranfer to the edmonton office, as per cic agent novemeber 2014
i have already recived study guide, i am not sure when i would recived test and oath

with God all things are possiable.
lets all see how it goes in 2015

The stage of processing upto the transfer to the local office happens at Sydney. So the very fast timeline above is indicative of the general trend for post July 2014 applications handled by Sydney.
The big question is whether the local office is also going to process them from there on once received, with the same speed as the Eastern ones do. I know for instance that final quarter of 2013 applicants are being called for test in Alberta since the last two months. And these are "routine" applications. That's the concerning part.
A friend of mine sent his on Jan 2014, processing since March and no progress whatsoever since. So I guess they will be going through the backlog first, while simultaneously hire more staff for the few Western offices to catch up with the new ones. Hopefully the $630 fee windfall goes towards the Western ones as well.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on December 19, 2014. (email)

We started processing your application on December 23, 2014.

Your file was transferred to the Edmonton office on December 31, 2014. The Edmonton office will contact you.

Hello everyone,

I did my test this morning in the Edmonton office and cleared it.
Test was a little tricky, make sure you read the book multiple times. It's not as easy as people say.
Interview lasted for about 20-25 minutes, Citizenship Officer was nice, soft spoken and very helpful.

Below is my timeline again:

Application Filed: July 7, 2014
In Process: August 25, 2014
Test Invite: May 14, 2015
Test Date: June 3, 2015
Oath Date: Most likely (End of July 2015)

No news since then and can't get through to anyone at the call centre to find out if the file has reached Edmonton or not.

even if the file reaches Edmonton it will still sit there for several months , mine was transferred on january and i have been waiting for the test invite still

Have you called and asked the status, from everyone else's timeline it seems as though u should receive the invite very soon.

I applied in March 2014, cic representative said file was transferred to Edmonton on July 30, 2014. Still I did not hear anything regarding the test. The processing in Edmonton is very random

Never called the call center from what i have read they have no clue about the real status or process of the applications ,i agree it is pretty much random in edmonton office for some july applicants got their tests and are waiting for oath while some march applicants are still waiting for test invite ,
anyway i just ordered and ATIP and will see what will come up
