eCAS ?

Hello all I need some clarification on eCAS

I got my UIC number last week, when I punch it in .. I get nothing. So I figured maybe it's too soon, so I tried my File number .. and nothing. Tried receipt number .. and still nothing.

Isn't eCAS updated as soon as you are accepted as a sponsor ( stage 1 ) ?, or is it when your VO receives it ?
Been trying to call CiC with no luck .. busy lines

Someone please clear this confusion about eCAS.

Hey CKnD,

ecas is confusing! I think the "trick" is to make sure that you "pair" the names and file number well.
Sometimes it takes a while ( from 3 to 5 days) to be updated from CIC, so maybe that's why it doesn't work...

For me what works is to put the application/file number ( starting with F) and the last name of the applicant. ONLY the last name - no first name attached, hyphened, etc.
then DOB and place of birth for the applicant.

Some people reported that they have to do it twice before it works - for me it works every time I try ( nothing changes inside, but at least I can log in).

UCI number works with the sponsor last name ( only last name) + DOB + place of birth. - but there you will see mostly "decision made" for the sponsor, which you already know, so I imagine that you are interested mostly in the applicant file...

Once you get an AOR ( not always, but maybe!) from the VO, you will get a UCI for the applicant, and you can use that as well - but for now, only the file number that was on your approval.
