Hi,

I got the passport request on 10th February and send the passport on 13th through DHL and it reached London CHC on 14th February (i.e. valentines day) evenning 9.30. I was just watching conversations and was little disturbed if the passport will get delayed by 2 to 3 months, then I will be having big problem. I hope God will save me and will get back the passport soon.

Cheers,
Ranjan

Dear Bestpalji & all,,

As per the link provided by you, following information comes out:

Where to send your application:
List of countries and corresponding Canadian visa offices
Applicants for Permanent Residence
You must apply in your country of residence, your country of nationality or the country where you have been legally admitted for at least one year. What do you comprehend of this last part?

It means it states that You must apply where you are residing or your country of natioanlity or where you have been legally admitted.I am staying in UAE from last three year but have selected New Delhi as my VO.

I disagree with what u have said-"About the second one, mon ami, choosing the Visa office--is not in the hands (read control) of the PR applicants." I maintain my opinion. If U R living in UAE for more than 1 year and opting for New Delhi, then surely the file will be redirected to London by New Delhi
we can choose New Delhi even if we have stayed in middle east for more than one year as it has been mentioned in application instruction that we can always choose our country of Nationality or country of residence. Can we choose our Nationality? I disagree. It is a process and granted only if approved by the respective Nation. Just like the Canadian PR & citizenship process

Pl. calrify more if I am wrong. After staying in Abu Dhabi for more than 3 years I've chosen New Delhi as my VO.I've received 1st AOR and submitted docs to ND VO.If it is the case as told by you,My file would have been rejected/directed to London. This is surprising, moreover if the process is running normally! Best Wishes! I opined with the best of my knowledge. Perhaps, seniors like Captain or Biju Bhai Bhai know better and can shed some light on this.-- Bestpal

Best regards,
Edmonta

NEW CHANGES FOR FSW COMING THIS YEAR

Posting some important parts of Kenny interview.

In order to enable a more successful integration for skilled immigrants, Kenney said Ottawa is set to change the “points grid” of the immigrant selection system to bring in newcomers who don't have university degrees or language proficiency, but whose job skills are in demand in Canada.
The federal government also plans to further raise the language requirements for those who apply to immigrate here with professional designations such as doctors, engineers, accountants and scientists to ensure their success in the country.
Kenney said he hoped to make those changes later this year.

“We need to be more flexible . . . skilled trades people who don't have university degrees or who have very limited English or French language proficiency typically cannot make it through the points grid, but we have a huge and growing need for skilled trade people,” said Kenney.

“Rather than locking them out of the skilled worker program, I'm looking at ways we can accommodate people who don't have university degrees, who don't have full language proficiency to come through that program.”
Currently, a skilled immigrant applicant is assessed based on education levels, language skills and work experience among other factors, and must earn 67 points to qualify for the federal skilled worker program.

“Foreign trained professionals find the biggest barrier to employment is limited language proficiency, so we may look at additional ways to encourage foreign trained professionals with high levels of English or French proficiency,” said Kenney.

He said the aim is to “select the people who are most likely to succeed and give them the tools to succeed once they get here.”

Hi guys,

Received below reply for London CHC...

We regret that due to an error on our part, we have yet to conclude background checks and therefore cannot issue visas until these are complete.

We have expedited these checks and hope to have them concluded within 4-6 weeks.

We can either hold your passports until this time, or return them to you in the meantime. Please advise.

So guys, we can never predict anything until the passport is back with Maple leaf.
Just need your kind prayers...

Cheers... :D

Hi SatDXB,

Do not worry, have patience. We are praying for you and you will get it soon....

Hoping for the best..

Hi to All,

Question is for who landed OR Official information. Can we take United States Dollar instead Canadian Dollar at the time of landing. Now a days C$ is more expensive then US$ specially which you change 20,000 +

If you take a draft in USD and change that to CAD after landing, you may loose heavily in exchange rate there....

Bonjour Canada

Dear Captain,Biju Bro & all
Two things:
1) when I submitted my application to CIC Nova Scotia I didnt mention PO BOx in my mailing address.I got 1st AOR on 30th Sept and then i submitted full docsto ND VO -with cover letter mentioning new adress with adding PO box only.I also applied online in ECAS "address change " link before 15 days but still in the ECAS adress it is showing adress without PO Box in it.My worrry is when it will be updated/ I've mentioned adrees change in new docs as well as with separate cover letter too.

2)I am always wondering why most of the Indians who are staying now in UAE have decided VO london as their VO inspite of the known fact that London is much slower than ND.Just anxious to know..

Regards
Edmonta

1. Address on e-cas: Relax! The e-cas takes sometime to be updated with the new addresses... it's not a cause of concern. Your updated address WILL BE logged in your case file.

2. Why ppl chose London: It's purely a 'personal choice'. We can opt for the CHC of our homeland or the London's... but, usually we choose London for ease of communication AND pps sending for the PRV stamping. 'Coz, if we had chosen our homeland's - sometimes we might not be able to visit the country for submitting the pps [if posting it wasn't permissible]. And then [purely my opinion] -- CHC-London is more sympathetic to the ME applicants... they know what/how we r doing here... what r the docs available to us... what our company letters, MOL contract, DNRD papers etc. look like. while, CHC-ND, or others, might start 'flapping'... result: Queries after queries - some unnecessary BF'Ds.

Qorax

thanks Qorax sir 4 ur answers.
Hope ND VO will do fair things and dont do much more flipflops.

Edmonta
