You should travel at least 6 months before the expiration date.

It depends on the regulations of the country of departure. Canada doesn't have any issues with the validity of ur pps while 'landing'... similarly when we travel from Dubai, London, Norway, Switzerland and many other nations -- they do not worry about our pps expiry as well.

Dear Seniors,

Greetings!

1. I am going to apply for Medical Health Insurance cards for my family tomorrow. Reading through their website, I am a bit confused about the following requirement for the same (also a part of the Health Insurance application form):

"Committed to being physically present in Alberta for at least 183 days in a 12 month period"

(Ref: http://www.health.alberta.ca/AHCIP/registration-requirements.html)

We will be in Alberta for around a month or so, then will leave. We intend to come back after a year to permanently settle in Canada. In these circumstances and keeping in view the aforementioned statement/requirement, am I still eligible to apply for the medical insurance for me and my family?

2. Secondly, is it a must to open a bank account and take the bank account statement as my residency proof as I will be temporarily staying here?

Thanks and Best Regards,

ammaartahir

Hi guys

Does anyone know a good lawyer who can verify my ID's . Basically the reason is to get a Canadian criminal record check from RCMP .I can just go to any Canadian police station and get it done but , since I am here in Dubai and not traveling to Canada in the coming few weeks , they want me to get my ID's verified and mention it on a form sent by the RCMP itself .

So was wondering if you guys can recommend any good lawyer. I visited the public notary in Dubai, they refused to fill up RCMP's ID verification form as it was in English.

Any advice?

1. In that case u aren't eligible for Canadian Healthcare. That's with every province.
2. Not required.

To the kind attention of Qorax & Seniors:

1- To make things clear, please advise if after cancelling my UAE resident visa, can I immigrate directly to Canada instead of going back to home country first.

2- I'll be transiting through Heathrow (London). My question is, can I transit through the airport with an immigrant visa. I checked with the transiting requirements but that only allows persons holding canadian resident cards.

I'll be thankful for your kind advice.

kind regards, SW
