They passport recieved on Monday 10, afterward no updates.. The E-Case status is still In Process. Lets see how long will they take to send it back to me. I have a question:
After getting PR how much chances I have to get UK visit visa? I want to stay in london for few day on my way to Canada.

u can apply transit visa and stay for few days like one week no problem at all

I have checked for Transit visa.. That is valid only for 48 hours where as I want to stay at least 3 days so I am thinking to apply for Normal single entry visit visa which is valid for 6 Months.
I am not sure about the probablity of getting this.

when u will have canada visa at that time I m sure UK will give u visit visa. but dates must be prior to land in canada.

I wish the answer to your question was that as a PR you preferential visa issuance to all countries, however unfortunately that is not the case.

Apart from a very few countries that allow visa free entry or on-arrival visa to Canadian PRs, you will be treated based on the passport you currently hold.

The one thing you have working to your advantage is that, for UK visa you need to prove that you will leave UK after your visit ends and having an unused PR visa strongly supports your intention to leave UK and complete your landing

If you are still employed in Dubai and your employer will give you a letter to visa officer in Abu Dhabi that you are going on vacation, then your case would be much stronger and from what I have observed, UAE residents with decent salaries only get rejected if their paperwork is not in order. I don't know how your PR visa will come into play if you now declare you are vacationing in the UK (the UK VO may interpret the PR visa as a negative as you will soon be quitting your job), however for a strong case the following is usually enough:
1. Letter from employer
2. Bank statement reflecting that you can afford a vacation in the UK with your family.
3. Airline ticket (you can always refund it later)
4. Hotel Bookings (Don't write on your application that you will choose a hotel at the airport, it shows you have not done enough research on your vacation plan)

can one of the this forum members check my case please, I m living in Abu dhabi,
I applied in may 2010,I was with LVO
my file transfered from LVO to PVO in April 2013 and I got the Medical request at that time,
Since then I sent many e mails to PVO and my case with them till “ Under background check “
One month ago I received different response from PVO that my file has been transferred to LVO, for further processing,
Then I sent an e mail to LVO for confirmation and to ask them what if my medical test expire
They “ LVO “ replied that my file is with them now and it is under background check and they extend my medical test to March 2015

Some questions please:

• Does any applicants who is living in UAE has the same case,
  I have changed the bank which I used to deal with does this will affect on the background check
  can some one tell me how much this " Background check" takes

You are lucky that you have been given a 1 year extension for your medicals, not a lot of people are getting them these days.

There is no standard time associated with background checks. If it has taken this long means it is stuck somewhere. Don't worry it will take time but will pass.

They will not contact your bank as part of the background check. Before giving you the visa, they will ask for your latest bank statement. It won't matter if it is from a different bank as long as it has the required amount.

dont worry ur case is late between pvo nd lvo, now they will process it soon, order gcms, or call me i m in abudhabi toooooo.
