We received PPR letter dated April 20 but got informed by Consultant on 5 May 2011, the problem is we have pending appointment with USA consulate for Tourist Visa application on 17 May 2011, should i go ahead submit my passport to CIC or better to finished the application in USA since it's already paid and have the appointment date? CIC given us 60 days from the letter date, i think we have still time to submit our passport, only thing my consultant should not delay the submission when we give our passports...

Its better to finish the USA application thing, and then submit your PPs on 18 May, as you have sufficient time.

And why not send your PPs yourself, if you have a doubt of delay from consultant side. I did the same by sending the PPs myself not through the consultant. Coz i dont trust them anymore.

Cheers..

Hi Biju,

Hearty Congrats for your PPR!! Sorry for the delayed mail.... All the best bro..

Dear SATDXB,

On the same page of the PPR letter it did also mention this line:

"Due to the postal situation in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Yemen, passports and visas will be sent by courier to addresses in these countries. For all the other addresses, passports and visas will be sent by registered mail" What do you think what does this mean? thank you and regards.

Hi Aspire, yes same is mention in my PPR letter too. But still CHC sent the PPS to CHC ADH not directly to me.

God Bless...

Cheers..

It's not due to submitting the pps -- it's due to the erratic nature of e-Cas nowadays... their software is being updated.

U have nothing to worry -- your pps would return, stamped, in due course.

Hi, no one is sure about the maximum days. All depends on case to case.

All the best.

Cheers...

1. Will bank statement of account do?
-Yes.

2. Also, should the account be in my name only? My wife has saving bonds, can I submit them as proof as well?
-POFs under anyone or more of the 'accompanying' family members will do, whether singularly or jointly held. Yes, wife's is perfectly Ok.

3. Another question regarding the application package. Do I need to submit more than 1 set of the required documents (PP copies, experience letters, university degrees, etc..)? Or just 1 set?
-Just one set.

Qorax

Thanks again Qorax and Biju.

If I submit copies of saving bonds or statements of account, do I need to certify them by Notary Public?

Biju

Thanks Biju.

I have a concern. The Notary Public in my home country will stamp in Arabic, does this mean I have to translate the stamp into English even on documents written in English?

Follow CHC's instruction that if after 6 weeks you do not hear anything about your passport, send them the letter. In the letter you may include your request to expedite delivery as your UAE visa is expiring.

At max - 8 weeks... beyond which it should reflect that there is something wrong with the pps.
At such situations CIC is known to 'not have corresponded' with the applicant... thus, it'd do u good to send them an email [sometimes repeat ones as well, thru both the electronic media] -- only then a staff of the VO might start communicating with u. -DANGER

The pps problem could be due to many reasons, viz:
1. Less or no blank pages in the booklet;
2. Damaged or mutilated pps [might be one or two pages -- but that's enough to deny the 'stamping'];
3. Non-MRP [Machine Readable Passport];
4. Bio page of the pps having discoloration;
5. Bio page &/or the back page having 'oblique cut' [done by some consulates while renewing the pps];
6. Inadmissible pps [eg. Passports from Somalia, Namibia etc.];
7. Security issues observed with the 'actual' pps;
8. Enormous amount of POE stamps [need extra security checks];
9. Etc.

BTW: None of the foregoing is something that can arbitrarily deny u the PRVs. Most of the time a few correspondences, with explanations &/or rectification of the problem would get the ball rolling again.

All the best !
