Hello jdn,jdn said:Hi Sushma ,
Being a UAE resident for the last 7 years , i have selected London as my visa office as per the guidelines of Application form . Being London visa office they will instruct Canadian Embassy in Abu-Dhabi for the Passport and visa procedures .

True. UAE applicants have a 'choice' of selecting LVO OR the VO assigned to the applicant's country of Domicile. Example: An Indian living in the UAE for more than 1 year, can either choose LVO or NDVO.jdn said:Dear nishesh ,
I have applied from Dubai and since i was here for the last 7 years , there was an option to use London visa office . ( all UAE applicants have to select London visa office as per the Guidelines in the application form )
After applying for final visa stamping alone London office will be instructing us to submit in Abu-Dhabi Embassy .
I am aware that there was one applicant whose consultant sent a request on his behalf to NDVO for the stamping procedure to be transferred to ADVO.Sushma1976 said:Hello jdn,
Thanks for the reply.
I have been living in UAE for 15 years and as indian national I selected NDVO (all suggested that NDVO is faster than LVO). I was wondering is there any possibilities we request NDVO to transfer our file to ADVO at later stage? any ideas or suggestions?
thanks in Advance
Which countries can you choose as your VO according to CIC ? I know there are normally 2 choices if the applicant is residing outside his country of domicile.souseh said:Hi nishesh,
I know I've asked many questions but if I opt for LVO, will I be required to deliver my passports there or to ADVO?
Q2: I'm Syrian and upon checking the CIC website, I found 3 visa offices where I can have my application sent. How can I know which one I'm supposed to include in my generic application form?
Thanks in advance for your help.
You're right nishesh, the options are two: Amman and Ankara.nishesh3003 said:Which countries can you choose as your VO according to CIC ? I know there are normally 2 choices if the applicant is residing outside his country of domicile.
I have never come across 3 choices before so if you can please list them out.
Also - there is nothing in particular that suggests that LVO will ask for your PP to be submitted to ADVO apart from the case of JDN.
My geography is testing me right now. You have said Amman and Ankara. Are these 2 VOs listed for Syria ?souseh said:You're right nishesh, the options are two: Amman and Ankara.
As for my PP, so it will have to be submitted to the VO specified in my generic application form, be it London or Ankara Visa Office?
Considering the current situation in Syria, they certainly wouldn't list Damascus as one of the VO options for Syrian citizens!nishesh3003 said:My geography is testing me right now. You have said Amman and Ankara. Are these 2 VOs listed for Syria ?
If that is true, and you are currently residing in the UAE, then you get a choice of 3 in total which includes LVO as default for UAE residents.
Now whichever VO you choose, the chances are that most likely you will be asked to submit your PP for stamping to the same VO.
If I was in your spot, I would go with LVO. I do not know what other regulations are in place around the 2 VOs listed for Syria.
While you were a resident in UAE (with a residency VISA) you DO NOT need to list the travels made between UAE and SYRIA.souseh said:Thank you for your patience nishesh. I have a few more questions.
In the Supplementary Information Your Travels form, do I have to list my travels to Syria (my country of citizenship).
I mean I've been in the UAE for the last ten years and during those years I travelled twice to Aleppo, Syria (to visit my family) and then twice to Izmir and Istanbul, Turkey (for tourism purposes). So shall I list my travels as follows:
From To Length Destination Purpose of travel
2014-02 2014-02 3 days Istanbul, Turkey Tourism
2014-02 2014-02 8 days Izmir, Turkey Tourism
2012-12 2012-12 4 days Izmir, Turkey Tourism
2009-07 2009-09 47 days Aleppo, Syria Family visit
2007-06 2007-09 77 days Aleppo, Syria Family visit
Does this form need to be signed and dated? And do I sign by merely writing my name by hand?
Visiting your own country should not be mentioned as your travel history.souseh said:Thank you for your patience nishesh. I have a few more questions.

If the form requires a signature - you will obviously have to sign it. How you sign it, is something I cannot suggest. Its your signature, preferably as the one in your PP.souseh said:And does the form need to be signed and dated?
In forms that need to be signed, do I sign by just writing down my full name?
