Hello,

I have got an opportunity to work as a graphic designer (Level B) for a company that has been for 16 years in Vancouver.

However, I will be the only one on the payroll.
(Two share owners, and only me as an employee)

I haven't accepted this job yet... because I wonder it would be a problem *at the time of applying for PR through CEC EE* if there is only one employee on payroll for the company, even though I work as a skilled labour level B...

I heard somewhere the employer has to have minimum 5 employees... Maybe it is only for PNP?? or LMIA?

I have PGWP (3 years), two years left now.

Thank you in Advance !!!

Hi scylla

Thanks for the reply.

I wonder if it would be an issue when I apply PR through CEC EE after working this job 1 year full time.
If there is a requirement for employer for CEC EE application, other than my part

Thanks again.

As long as you are performing NOC B job duties and are being paid a wage appropriate for your NOC (i.e. you aren't being underpaid), there won't be an issue. Your employer will need to provide letters confirming your employment and duties.

for BC PNP there is a requirement for the number of full time employees, I believe for Vancouver it's 5 minimum . but for CEC I don't think there is such a requirement .

so it all depends on which category you are going to apply .

Officially, no, there is no requirement on the number of employees under the CEC program. Practically, however, if IRCC cannot easily verify the existence of the company through a quick google search (websites are important), you could face some challenges, at the very least additional document requests such as proof that your employer has a business license, or more. Employers with home-based office addresses are also suspect. It´s not impossible, but just something to consider if your employers are willing to support your application by sharing such details.
