Documents required to show @ POE for Supervisa?

Hi all,

Could someone pls let me know what documents their parent/s (who are on PG 1 supervisa) had to show (or took along with them) @ POE?

I was thinking a copy of the one year med ins contract should be kept handy!

Nobody's parent/s visited Canada on Supervisa till date?

Could someone pls reply......

Plus how many months did the IO stamp at the POE........have read in this forum that even with Supervisa parent/s are getting duration of stay for 6 mths.....what is the use of a supervisa then.......if we have to pay and renew again.....

I am also waiting super-visa for my mother... and I guess (as mentioned above),

-medical insurance
-copy of my PR card (just in case)
-print out of my address & phone numbers...

this is just guess to avoid issues...

Also I guess, it applicant might get 1 year to 2 years visa.
1 year - because applicant has 1 years medical insurance
2 years - as mentioned in super-visa info that applicant is eligible for up to 2 years visa...


Please post ur experience in future... that would be helpful....

You should definitely provide them with the proof of Super Visa insurance, a copy with the effective date that matches the day they enter Canada

We plan to start her med ins date a day before she lands in Canada.

Yes, I think it will be a good idea to also have a copy of my brother's PR card plus his complete contact details.

I shall def post the exp at the POE

Any one else with any other inputs?

Just to let you'll know that the only doc that was asked after mentioning the PG-1 category was the insurance doc.

The VO stamped the passport with a one year stay (he said as the ins was valid for one year). He gave us a call-center and told my Mom that if she wants to stay for another year, she would need to initiate the process 4-5 months in advance.

The immigration officer just asked my parents passport. They even didnt looked for a insurance policy..It was so quick...
