Hi King Khan
What about FRCS-UK,you must know in medical, Royal college's diplomas are the highest qualifications.Even in Canada Royal College of Physicians and Surgeon is the supreme most institution and their diploma FRCSC is equivalent to FRCS-UK. Don't they give point to them ?
Dr Saeed.
As far I know all those fellowship are not counted for educational points. Although you will get priority in PR application. May be I am wrong. Please other member comment in this point.

I have no doubt what so ever, that FRCS and FCPS are considered equivalent to Masters if not Doctorate. Consider the time it take to you to complete the education. For example after FCPS part 1 you have to do 4 years training, that includes a dissertation and than appear in an examination, and mind you Canada has similar system and they know it very well. And to add to your knowledge CPSA (alberta) has accepted my FCPS as Specialist degree, and there requirement was 4 year training. I had claimed points equal to PHD and there was no problem and my case is in IN PROCESS stage. Other thing the highest degree in clinical Medicine is Fellowship or Membership, it is not masters or doctorate, only in few countries universities are giving specialist degrees in most of the countries the Coleges of Physicains etc . are the degreeor diploma giving authorities. AT least in Canada this the system.
doesnt it look ridculous that after only 4 year after graduation you can claim 25 points. eg: in Urdu. and after 5 years graduation and than passing many tough exams fron UK you are still at 20 points.
Just think about it.

below is a quote from the OP6 manual, as i have a related concern but regarding a higher studies diploma.
Medical doctor degrees are generally first-level university credentials, in the same way that a Bachelor of Law or a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology is a first level, albeit “professional” degree
and should be awarded 20 points. If it is a second-level degree and if, for example, it belongs to a Faculty of Graduate Studies, 25 points may be awarded. If a bachelor's credential is a prerequisite to the credential, but the credential itself is still considered a first-level degree, then 22 points would be appropriate. It is important to refer to how the local authority responsible for educational institutions recognizes the credential: i.e., as a first-level or second-level or higher university credential
This means that if whatever study you have need a previous bachelor degree before having the second degree you would be awarded 22 points, so weather its higher studies diploma or mrcp you should at least get 22 points cause you can't have a higher studies without having a bachelor.
so expert please tell us your opinion and verify cause it seems its an important point for many persons here.
also please confirm Master degree awarded 22 or 25 points.

Hi KingKhan

You are always kind enough to reply and guide people, every one really owes to you.
I wanna ask few things that after my FRCS in 2003 FCPS in 2000 and MCPS in 2009,should i send all my experience certificates and as i am in UAE now, can i get my copies be attested by Pakistan Ambassy in UAE or these should be attested by Notary Public in Pakistan.
Other issue is Transcripts,i can get this for my MBBS but can't get of MCPS,FCPS and FRCS. What you suggest ? Do Notarised copies of Degrees stay valid. Please i need your suggestion or any other SENIOR who have experience in this regards.
Regards
Dr Saeed.
I attested mine in the British council. The British council in Dubai will do verification for 120 Derhams.

Dear colleagues,

I have recently started reading these posts. These are certainly very helpful. I am a doctor from Pakistan and currently working in Saudi Arabia. I applied to Sydney, NS in May 2010 and received response on 13th October 2010 and now in 120 days period to submit final application. I feel that we all will benefit more if the doctors already immigrated to Canada could share their experiences on this thread so we can better prepare ourselves for the potential hardships that we might face there.

I have certain questions and request you guys to guide if you can.

1. I have lived in USA for some years so I need FBI clearance but here in Saudi Arabia neither police nor US consulate is helping me take my fingerprints. Any ideas if I can send my final application without clearance from FBI.

2. Does USMLE and work experience in USA help in getting residency in Canada? I have passed USMLE and was doing residency training in USA when my J-1 visa renewal was denied on my vacation to Pakistan so my residency training was interrupted for good and I got stranded in the middle of nowhere.

3. Do I still have to take MCCEE? When is the good time to take this exam? Besides credential verification, is there any other requirement for taking this exam? Is PR a requirement for this exam?

4. Last but not the least, the most burning question that's bothering me these days is whether I should leave a decent and relatively stable job here in Saudi Arabia and go to work in Canada where several doctors have lost their identity as doctors and working in other related or unrelated fields or driving cabs. I would have definitely given second thought to immigration to Canada if I knew the situation better or had I been reading the discussions on forums like this.

hi,
1-get a police certificate from saudia and if u cant get FbI report from America, write them in a covering letter that u r working here in saudia n its v hard to get it from America.
2-I have heard in forums that there r some provinces in canada who acknowledge USMLE but generaly an IMG has to take MCCEE..,MCCQE 1,MCCQE 2.
3-U can take mccee in saudia...there is no req of being PR.
Yes its a fact its vv hard for doctors to practice in canada even after taking all the` exams, they still don,t get residency...
Think twice before quiting ur job in saudia
where r u working in saudia?
best of luck .

hi kingkhan!
once again i need ur suggestion, the thing is that i finally courier my application. But the thing is that i missed to put my baby's(18months USA citizen passport copy as per the visa office requirements.(Passports or travel documents for you, your spouse or common-law partner and your dependent children. Include only copies of pages showing:
•the passport number,
•date of issue and expiry,
•your photo, name, date and place of birth)

Will the cio office return my application just for that or will they request me to send the missing documents?
Pleaseee give ur suggestion.

Thank you

****CIO never ask for missing documents*********

Hi,
I am sorry to say, there is a great possibility that your file might be assessed as "Incomplete" and get returned to u.
what you can do is to call CIO, tell them what happened, and ask them whether they will accept it if you send the missing documents right now!!

regards,
Dr.Hasib

You must pay by credit card or bank draft/money order/certified check in canadian dollar. Debit card is not accepted. Your file might get returned.
Passport pages and also the visa lebels will be needed for you/your spouse/your children.
