As I understand and the way we have seen their updates regarding the CAPs, it looks like the count is based on completed application which they have already reviewed and payment encashed. e.g the CAP of 1122 according to the CIC update was filled in sept 2011 but the applications received after 10th july was returned due to the CAP reached (just 10 days after the open date) which means they have received 500 applications by arround 10th july and they were working on those applications until sept thatswhen they announced the CAP reached.

Regards.
Ok, but this seems to be not fair, since they announce in CIC website "Applications received toward the overall cap...." as of __/__/____ (the actual date).

I am facing same situation. My application reached CIO on the 20th of December, and now the CAP 3112 is reached, but don't know whether I am IN the cap or OUT. I am still waiting (and hoping) for a PER from CIO.

Best of luck to all.

I would like your suggestion about the situation. My wife is an ob&gyn in our country. She had usmle step 1&2. We decided to immigrate and in final steps. Will the usmle exams help in any kind when we come to canada. İf so in which way do we have to add something. Thanks for the replies

If she also does step 3, she can use 3 steps for canadian licensure after completing residency in US. They won't help her get a residency in canada.

Hiding facts is misrepresentation, not a smart move.

I received this reply from London VO

Dear Sir,

Further to your email of 10 November 2011, please note that it is not necessary that PCRC contact us directly within their results. You can send us a scanned copy of the correspondence you receive from them.

Yours sincerely,

Hi colleagues

I have plan to start my career in Canada and I need your advice in this plan.

I am emergency physician & I heard that it is so difficult to work as a doctor in Canada, so I decide to study in Canada as an emergency technician hoping that this will make me in contact with the field of emergency medicine in Canada which will make my chance to get a residency more easier and then to work as a emergency physician again.
I don't have any financial problem regarding sponsoring my self for 2-3 years studying as emergency technician, if it cost totally around 70000 US$ but do you think it will work ? Is there any one of you have or heard a similar story?
Your opinion and advice, please

helu doc carl

i came across to this forum yesterday and i've been following your post..

I am a graduate from one of the medical schools in Cebu,I 'm from Mindanao...Im practicing as GP, a university physician for almost 3 years my husband is a nurse..we filed our application last Oct.28.2011.I am the principal applicant..we received our eligibility last Jan.23,2012..

I would like to ask how to register for mcee and where are the testing centers located here in the philippines...

are you considering taking usmle step 1 and 2 CK in our country as an option, before landing in canada?then cross to US to complete the steps, after knowing the hardship to get residency training in canada,do you think its a better plan?

thank you for your guidance doc...

From what I have been reading in this forum, hardly remember any migrant sharing his experience of working as a doctor in Canada.
I guess the process is too cumbersome , lengthy and expensive and it is as good as re doing MBBS.

Anyone disagrees with me?
