Do I need Extension?

My husband is Canadian and we are living in Canada. My visitor visa expires on the end of February 2016.
My husband applied to sponsor me and I applied for my work permit (paper application)
The application was received in Mississauga on 1st February, 2016.
Checked online and it says Permanent Residence takes 26 months and Work Permit 3 months.
Do I still need to apply for a visitor extension or wait for a reply on the work permit?
Confused and we do not want to break the law.

No you do not need to as while you are waiting for your OWP, you are considered as being on "Implied" status.
