Difficult to get Reference Letter explaining roles and responsibilities

Hi,

I am working in a MNC since 2007 and I requested my employer to give me a reference letter on a Company Letter Head explaining my roles and responsibilities and they refused to do so explaining that as per company policies they are not supposed to give me reference letter with complete details of my roles and responsibilites.

Now, I am worried and could not move forward in processing my application with CIC. Can someone please explain me what are the alternative available in place of reference letter? I have offer letter, promotion letters with me.

I appreciate your help if you could explain me alternative steps.

Apply with all available documents , and write a covering letter to CIC , explaining situation

I suggested this solution to a friend also... and i planned to do it for myself too but finally i managed to get a letter ..

I suggest you write an email to them... where u will mention all your job responsibilities and it will contain all the info CIC is looking for...

Tell your office.. to reply to it by mentioning that they cannot provide u all this detail, its against company policy or what so ever...

this way you will have a self explanatory letter to CIC stating your job description and their refusal also..
