Hello,

I have the following work experience:

- 2 years and 3 months in the same company (let's call it company X)- NOC B job;
- (unemployed for 6 months);
- 11 months in another company (let's call it company Y) - NOC B job;
- 1 year in yet another company (let's call it company Z) - NOC A job.

All in all, I have 4 years of total work experience, of which 3 are in a NOC B job and 1 in a NOC A job. Note that there is a gap because I was unemployed for 6 months.

Which information should I fill in here:

6) Work Experience
ii. In the last 10 years, how many total years of skilled work experience do you have?
It must have been paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation (NOC skill type 0, A or B).

(http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp)

1 year, 2 years or 3 years+ ???
Is there any issue about being unemployed for that period of time between jobs?

Thanks in advance!

In this case, you should select 3+ years. The FSW rule is that you need at least 1 year of continuous work experience (NOC skill type 0, A or B). Once you have that, you can add other work experiences as long as all jobs are NOC skill type 0, A or B. Good Luck!

Hi noscarf2014, thanks for your reply.

However, Is it really safe to assume 3+ years? I don't have 3+ years in exclusively in a NOC A job (I do have 3+ years if we sum BOTH NOC A and NOC B experiences).

Also, does it matter if the experiences are in different companies and i if I was unemployed for a period of time between the jobs?

Thanks,

Again. The FSW rule is that you need at least 1 year of continuous work experience (NOC skill type 0, A or B). Once you have that, you can add other work experiences as long as all jobs are NOC skill type 0, A or B.
So, after meeting the eligibility, you can sum NOC 0, A, and B experience, and it is not a problem if you were unemployed or worked for different companies. Good Luck!
