It's CIC's choice where they process the application. Even when someone has lived in a different country for several years, CIC will sometimes still choose to send the application to the visa office responsible for the applicant's home country. There's really nothing you can do.

Thanks... I requested that they transfer her file to the Abu Dhabi office, I am worried that they require an interview, she wont be able to go there, I am not sure are all these processes will delay her application more?

Don't worry even in Mexico the practical perid is arround 6-8 months.

Thanks for the temporary Good feeling lonelyguy :) , but if they ask her for interview and all the correspondences ( sending passport, receiving documents, etc... ) will it be done overseas? or will the cairo office send allt he documents to the Abu dhabi one..? I don't want it really to delay more than this...

If CIC tells her to attend an interview in Abu Dhabi, she'll have to go.

problem is they ask her to attend in cairo, I don't mind the abu dhabi one, I think my case is very rare, to send her file where she doesn't reside, could this be a mistake? and if it is, is it a common one? and how to fix it?

Again, it's not a mistake. CIC can and often does decide to process an application through the applicants home country visa office. Since your wife is Egyptian, it makes sense that her file has been sent to Cairo.

Usually the application is sent to the country which they hold a passport of. If you hold couple of passports then probably the birth country.

ok, so now when they send her papers, they will send it over seas to Qatar?

They will send the documents to whatever address she put on her application to receive documents. The VO that the app is processed in won't change anything unless the processing times are significantly different or she requires an interview.

If additional documents are requested she would have to mail them to the Cairo office now.

Also, it's not that unusual these days anyways for applications to be processed in people's birth countries even if they haven't resided there in a very long period.

Thanks guy, the CIC sent me an e-mail saying the following: "In response to your request below, please be advised that your application has been redirected to the Visa Office in Abu Dhabi for continued processing.
Thank you, Case Processing Centre Mississauga", its weird that the Mississauga office replied to me, do you guys think that the paper will take longer than usual now? any rough estimates?
