Hi there
I was wondering if anyone who already got their pr, had to go through an interview? (I mean the interview for married couples where they question you both in separate rooms etc etc)
In what circumstances do they set interviews??
Thanks !

I would love to know detailed explanations of how interviews go ass well! I am expecting one in the near future, and I feel so unprepared for it!! ???

I went through an Interview with my wife. It is not a easy thing, it is usually about 2 hours long sometimes more and is very intimidating. the VO will ask very personal questions about you and your spouses intimate life and clothing etc. and all the questions will be asked in a very confusing way, sometimes 1 question will be asked in 3 different ways and you and your spouse have to match each and every answer perfectly. An interview is usually only done for a case if the VO has serious doubts about the application and the relationship between you and your spouse also sorry to say usually when an interview is needed in a country where it is not a requirement the VO has probably made up their mind about the application and is just making it official. In my wife's home country interviews are a requirement.

Usually they only interview the applicant, in which case his or her answers have to be the same as what was written or included in the application. Occasionally the visa officer might phone the sponsor and ask similar questions to see if the two people answer the same. If the sponsor happens to be there at the embassy, then chances are good that the visa officer will call the sponsor in to be interviewed separately. This is why I suggest that the sponsor not go to the embassy with the applicant for the interview. If you are not there, they most likely will not ask for you or call you, therefore there is no chance of the two of you giving different answers. (If the visa officer specifically asks to interview the sponsor, though, you will have to comply.)

However, normally they just interview the applicant. The applicant should know what was written in the application and be able to repeat it. He or she should also know a lot about the sponsor`s life in Canada.

I know that the questions are very personal but i was more interested in examples maybe?
I only applied recently, and they started processing my application. But I thought that the cic might raise an eyebrow regarding my case, since it seems very suspicious. I am an israeli and my husband is a canadian citizen born in iran.. needless to say they might question us.. also we have a very very big age difference, so that might be an issue for them as well.
The marriage is legitimate and we live together and everything, so I hope the other details wont make a difference. But just decided to research just in case

Really, it appears the visa officer can ask anything they want, including about sex. They asked me who made the first move the first time, for example. If you don`t want to talk about such things, or are too embarrassed to do so, it is better to say you are too embarrassed to answer such questions than to lie about it.

Do a search on this forum for interview questions. There's a long list that has been posted several times
