Hey everyone, hoping someone here has been through this or knows what's going on.
Quick background: my citizenship ceremony was scheduled for May 20, 2026 (virtual). I had already informed IRCC weeks ago via webform that I'd be outside Canada from May 11 to June 3 due to pre-booked travel. They acknowledged it, but the ceremony got scheduled for May 20 anyway. I've since contacted IRCC again, and replied to the email mentioned in the invitation, and I'm waiting to be rescheduled.
Here's the new wrinkle: I checked my tracker today and noticed it was updated on May 2, and now there's an entry saying I've been scheduled for an interview on May 20 the same day as the ceremony. I haven't received any official notice, instructions, or separate invitation about this interview. Just the entry on the tracker.
A few questions for anyone who's seen this:
My background check and prohibitions were both marked "Completed" back on April 8. The interview entry just appeared out of nowhere on May 2.
Any insight would be appreciated. Trying not to overthink it but also don't want to miss something important.
