Hi All

I and my wife live in the US and have a pr and completed soft landing in Feb 2022 and returned back the same day. We now have a new born (us citizen) and planning to move to Canada and use AVR(Automatic visa revalidation) option till we get the h1b stamping. Can the new born travel with us everytime we cross the border(once in every 30 days) and enter canada with Us passport when the newborns Pr is yet to be applied initially and once applied also. I have seen threads where it is taking more than 12 months to add a dependent. Please suggest.

Yes, you can bring the child to Canada as a visitor on the child's US passport.

The PR process will likely take 8-12 months however you can't start that until you have actually moved to Canada.
