Dependent traveling to Canada

Hi everyone,

i have a quick question on the above. I am waiting for my spousal and pr application approval (filed last June 2021). I am planning to have my son, who is included in the application as a dependent, visit me for Christmas. Will there be any challenges for him to enter Canada? he has a valid TRV until 2024.

any inputs on this will be greatly appreciated. I just want some advice before buying his ticket.

If he is only there for a Christmas visit then make sure you purchase a return ticket.

you’ll need permission from the other parent if their parent doesn’t live in Canada and a return ticket.
