Delay in Canada study visa

I am from India and my application was submitted in November. People who have submitted their files before 22 January are getting visa. I don’t think cap is for the ones who have already submitted their files. A friend of mine filed their application in December last week and he got his visa few days back.

When your friend gave his biometrics and date of receiving PPR ? I have done my Biometrics on 02nd Jan and still waiting for PPR

His file was submitted on 20th December. I guess his biometric was held after a week from this date. He recieved his visa on 26th January

Just want to post my experience here, which may help you feel better lol

I used to apply study permit for my sister online around Nov 2022, and the day I receive final decision from IRCC is Jun 1st, 2023.... and we are able to get our passport back with visa exact the day before our flight to Canada (we almost cancelled our flight lol)
