Hello

My wife is Canadian and is sponsoring myself and my son to come and live in Canada - so I guess we are an Outland application, the sponsorship approval was given in August 2014 and our application went into "in progress" in sept 2014 - i check the online status everyday - and after ages of seeing application received and then "in progress" (from mid August 2014) it now says decision made - on first page only! The second more detailed page still says they wrote to me on August 14th requesting new medicals - which we did immediately - no other update. Any ideas what this could mean - good news I hope,

Many thanks in advance

I should have added we are from the uk - so does that mean we won't get any passport requests?

Thanks again

Hello and congratulations on nearing the end...!!!

I just went through the same thing as you, similar changes to In Progress in Sep 2015, Decision Made in Oct.

I read that some people got results withing 3-4 days of DM, but others took 3-4 weeks. After a week of excited anticipation passed, I realized I must be in the "3-4 weeks" group. :)

I didn't know if I should expect results in email or mail, but it was mail for me. Keep checking your mail box (and make sure your mailing address is correct!). I got my COPR in the mail recently. The issuance date on the COPR was a week-ish before it actually arrived in my mail box! It may depend on where you live.

Assuming that all as gone well, I hope you hear good news soon!

I just saw your location: it may just be taking a bit more time to get the physical letter from Canada to your mail box in the UK. *crosses fingers for you*

I'm also from a visa-exempt country (USA), so there was no passport request. I think it depends on your country, and that it's not unusual for certain countries to skip that part (although certain individuals might get asked, that appears to be more the exception than the rule).

Hello - thanks for the post - very helpful, I'm currently in Canada (I have a visitors record) I'm worried the second more detailed page hasn't been updated, does that matter?

Thanks again

Okay, I'm also in Canada! And my 2nd "details" page is *still* not updated, even with COPR in hand!

I think there's a huge backlog and one lonely clerk/intern who has to manually type everything into the system over at CIC. :p

Assuming there are no "red flags" in your case, I think it's just a matter of time/post for you! Best wishes!

We are also in UK and recently had DM. The first screen changed to DM on a Monday, the second screen had nothing until about a week after that, and then another 3 or 4 days after the second screen changed we got COPR in the post. If it's in the UK it will come signed for. It will be good news for sure! Congratulations :D

Thanks for the posts, it's very reassuring, one thing that makes me nervous is that they requested a second set of medicals for me and my son as our others had expired - we booked and completed the medicals within a week of the request being made, the doctors told me they update cic with results about 5 days after medicals are done, that would have been late August, there has been no "medicals received" on our second page, they acknowledged the first set done in May 2014, our fourth line is cic advising us that new medicals are needed and they have written to us with instructions.

Hello JamesLiam15,

I am an editor of a spreadsheet which tracks applications processed in London. The link to the spreadsheet is in my signature, and the more data we have the better the spreadsheet is for everyone.

Would you like to be added? If so please provide the following:

-Date application received in Mississauga
-Whether you applied as Married or Common-Law
-Date of sponsor approval
-Which office is processing Phase 2 of your application (will say on your sponsor approval letter/email)
-Date the permanent residence status changed to In Process on ECAS
-Date(s) of any other requests you've had
-Whether or not the principal applicant is non-visa exempt
-Current location of the principal applicant- closest major city is fine if you don't want to be too specific!
-Date of medical exam

Thanks,
Andrew

Hi again
Are CIC normally slow to acknowledge medical results?
We did our second set in August - the doctor said they sent the results within 5 days of medicals being done
Towards end of August? Surely they would contact if there was an issue?

What does it say when you check ECAS under the permanent residence application status, it probably has at least 3 lines, something like:

We received James' application for permanent residence on (month day, year)
We started processing James' application on (month day, year).
Medical results have been received.

If it does not mention medicals do not worry, ECAS is notoriously unreliable. You could always double check with the doctor's office you did your medical at.

It says the following in the exact order,

We received xxxxxxxxx application for permanent residence on June 13, 2014.

We started processing xxxxxxxx application on September 8, 2014.

Medical results have been received.

We sent xxxxxxxxxxx medical instructions on August 12, 2015. To avoid delays, please provide us with the information requested as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Plus on first page it says decision made for both sponsorship and PR (went to DM for PR in early hours of Saturday morning 31st October)

Thanks again for all your help

I wouldn't worry, your file went DM long after the results were sent to CIC/LVO. You could try emailing or sending a case specific enquiry to London but as I said ECAS is not 100% reliable. It could be that the officer working on your application decided not to update it when s/he received your medical results.
