Does the money order or bank draft from BMO expires? I am in Canada and personally requested the money order or bank draft (I don't remember which one I ordered) in Canadian funds.

Just called OINP, As per the lady and her tone, I guess it's gonna take long time than we all are thinking. There's a possibility that most of the applicants are goin to get back their applications because of expired DD.

Something must be cooking in OINP authorities head.

Expired DD is problem for many outland applicants. For Inland applicants (confirmed with TD bank), the draft doesn't expire.

Who got it now in December list?
Applicants before Dec 8th have received AORs.

Not sure about BMO. Go and check with the bank. If you still have the account with the bank, they should be able to dig up all the information required!

Hi @sam_1011, My application is also returned as per the reply email i got. It's already been 7 days, they have returned application, but i have not yet received it.
Could you please let me know, how did you get hold of your application package status?
Did you get any tracking ID from them?
Which courier company has delivered it?
How many days it took for the application to reach you(after OINP resent your application)

I am really scared looking at your OINP application history and likely that could happen to me too :-X

Hi Hemche,

i basically bombarded them with emails once i came to know that my application was sent on SEPT 25th but i came to know about it only after OCT 29th , after several emails , they resent it to me through PUROLATOR carrier ,they also provided me a Tracking number.. and this package reached me in 5 Days .

Best of Luck. Hang in There.

Thanks, I will go to BMO after work to check with them. My account is still there and I dig out that transaction from my BMO app.

I just asked a teller, what he told me is kinda not clear, saying the money order is good for at least one year. I will take that as a yes, and I will check on another branch later.

Guys,

you are confusing many things together; although they're all for sending money, they're not technically the same: money order is not the same as demand draft and all are not the same as banker cheque (a.k.a. teller cheque). As for Indian central bank which is quite liberal, I would expect it to be more flexible in terms of cheques (again: not orders nor drafts), I can speak of Egypt: a banker cheque is good for 42months (3 and a half years) I would expect the comparable cheques issued from India to be valid at least for the same tenure if not more.

I verified with Scotiabank and my Money Order will not expire :)

dd

I think they are not returning apps because of dd issue because they encashed them in march..my dd was encashed in march but I am sure they are not going to return my app because it might be complete thatswhy they encashed dd

Hey everyone ...see below link

http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPNEW.html

At least now we know to relax till sometime in December for nominations to start happening. I sure hope they will use the opportunity to still go ahead and process AORs etc so they can simply start nominating candidates from Dec 2016.

I am so confused, so december applicants will have to wait till December 2016 to recieve their nominations? then what about January applicants?

No don't worry, that is misleading info, Dec 2016 is when those streams will reopen for applications of 2017.
We should be on track to receive Nominations sometime around July or August considering Nov 1st week applicants have got Nominations in last 1-2 weeks.

okay lol thanks for the clarification. I guess I can breathe easier now.

Maybe? Maybe Not

However look on the bright side, they will go on processing applications i would imagine. i.e asking for additional docs, sending AORs and so on, only thing that wont happen is nomination. Hence by December, there will be a flurry of nominations for applications fully processed.

Also i noticed this :

Note: If you receive and accept an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from CIC or a nomination from another province or territory after you have already applied to OINP, your application fee to OINP will not be refunded. Application fees are non-refundable even if an application is withdrawn or denied, as they cover OINP’s cost of processing applications.

This is an adjustment to the earlier rule that application fee of 1500CAD could be refunded. Apparently, they also realize that no nominations till December will drive CRS cut-off well below 450, making it possible for many OINP applicants to get ITA without nomination.

Anyways, i love Ontario nonetheless, i will wait! ;)
