  • AOR: January 16, 2026
  • BIL: still waiting, as of Feb 26, 2026

submitted Biometrics fee AFTER PR application, used webform to summit the fee receipt to IRCC, Received confirmation from IRCC that Biometrics Receipt has been attached to the PR application, application tracker was updated by Jan 26.

  • Looking for community to help answer the following questions, any help is appreciated!

    1. Any idea about the BIL timeline? Prior to end of 2025 the BIL was sent soon after the AOR to the sponsor. Can someone confirm if they've noticed increased time recently? We want to make sure we are on top and don't miss something from our end, but also don't want to contact IRCC if we can avoid it.

    2. Principal Applicant (PA) is not able to create a account for application tracker, only the Sponsor has been since AOR has their UCI. Is this also normal operation?

    3. PA is not able to link the PR application sent from the PR portal to their IRCC account using the information shared in the AOR email to the Sponsor. Is this to be expected? At which stage can PA link the PR application to the IRCC account?

My wife received AOR email but the email didnot have biometrics instructions does anyone know after how much time of receiving AOR do they send email about biometrics or they usually send email with AOR because I donot see anything in AOR email about biometrics.

A Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL) is sent separately from AOR. Can't say when for sure.

The email your spouse received is the AOR.

It will have been from a Do Not Reply and will have the UCI # and Application # on and will say similar to the below:

"This letter confirms that your application to sponsor member(s) of the family class was received by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on XXXX (whatever date you submitted your application) on behalf of the following member(s): XXXX (Your name as the primary applicant).
Oh Ok. Got it. Thanks a lot. If you don't mind please tell me what is the next step? It has been 15 days, I have not received the BIL. (I paid for it. PS I arrived in the country on Close Work Permit so I did Biometrics then). I am reading on net, trying to find the BIL or to link the application with tracker. getting confused. Apologies and thanks.

We have also not received a BIL yet. Not much we can do at this point but wait. You will get notified when there are updates to your application.
