I received a letter today from CIC 25 St Clair Avenue East Toronto office requesting for fingerprints. I will get my fingerprints taken tomorrow and was wondering if this will delay the whole process?

Its a standard procedure for some applicants...
When FPs are requested they are usually a part of the 'Background Check' verification.

There's always someone who does that. At least it's easy to fix because you can always go back a couple of versions.

I got a chance to call CIC today and it was not a very pleasant experience.....first off the agent never wanted to open my account because he said it is too early and when i insisted he said "All I can tell is that your file is BEING transferred to Local Office".

Anyhow just wanted to share that if at all you guys get a friendly agent who is willing to provide update on the application status, consider yourself blessed.

Called CIC and was told my file was transferred to local office on March 14, 2014. Hopefully test invite will be in the mail box in next couple months. To my surprise, I did not even had to ask the agent.. he simply put me on hold for a brief to check my file and came back with a message saying - Last status I can see on the file is about LOT on March 14, 2104. pretty neat of him.... not very often you find agents being so responsive....

I did travel outside within 4 years - few trips crossing the border.
