Dear Qorax/Accounts,

I am abt to receive passport soon. My query is can i show my Fixed Deposit certificate will do at the time of landing or I have to bring cash.

I have almost 5-7 Fixed Deposit certificate that I have shown as I proof of funds in my application to canada.

I am planning to take CAN $ 5000 cash and rest my FDR certificates( All FDR from Goverrnment Approved Bank from india).

Please help me

as far as my knowledge funds can be in CAD$...
if u have FDRs in CAD$ (Which i fear u have not) then no probs

I have all FDR in indian Rupee.

what should I do? Demand Draft is will do? my real sister is residing in canada. I am staying at her home as paying guest.

well same here , i am planning to bring my bank draft in USD and for this account i have a visa card that can be used anywhere in the world so i wonder if carrying funds in bank draft in USD and showing the visa card related to this accouunt will be a problem? or should the funds ABSOLUTELY be in Canadian dollars?

Landing funds in INR [& similar] will not work. But, USD, Euro, GBP etc works. I had a similar situation, my USDs & Euros were accepted [though it was way beyond the funds requirement], but the other currencies weren't.

Nonetheless, I had carried [more than] enough 'liquid' funds in Cash & Bank Drafts [all $$$Canadian].

can we show Indian Bank Statement?
