Hi,
could you give me advise how to step in my situation?
In fact i got my PR card in 2004. Since then i have been back in my home land.
Now i want to back in Canada. Problem is that my PR card is expire and after the time I become permanent resident a get married and have child.
Now i would like to go back in Canada with my family.
I plan to apply for Travel document(humanitarian and compassionate grounds) but I worry the time they would issue it and how long after they issue can I entry Canada. I mean how long is valid that TD.?

Thank you in advance

That's a good question for the Canadian Embassy close to your place, I guess... You'll have that TD from them after all!

I didn't quite understand your answer. Did you come back and live in Canada in 2007? And, If so, for how long?

Yes i did back to Canada with plans to live there, but i left my wife and kid(which i got after when i become PR) in my homeland, considering that procedure for sponsoring my family is short and easy. How you know(except me in this time) the process is very though to over it and I had back in my homeland to search different way. Until now my kind grow up and i can live him for couple mounts.

I believe because you have not maintained your residency obligations over the past 6 years, you are no longer a Canadian PR.

Canada is very obliging about it's residency rules, far more so than the USA but they do expect someone that is a PR to at least reside in Canada for a period.

I don't know! I hope it's deppent of the case. By me, I had meet difficultes to maintained my obligations. If they dismissed them my be they will give TD. :( ::)
