Hi everyone,

I have a question about days living in Canada for citizenship. I am a PR living in Canada now.
During the three yrs out of four, I have to renew my PR card, so then do those days which between my old PR card expires and receive a new PR card counted as eligible days for becoming a citizen. I will live in Canada during those days. Any suggestion when is a wise time to file PR renewal application? Thanks!

The PR card period doesn't matter at all. You can file for PR card renewal any time during the time you are waiting to qualify for citizenship or after you apply for citizenship.

Hi Leon,
I have applied for citizenship in 2011 and soon after that my PR card expired,do I need a new card at the time of citizenship test ?? I did not apply for a new one thinking that I ll get a citizenship card soon.
Shall I apply for a PR card now or should wait for the citizenship test/card ??

thanks :)

If you want to travel in the near future, you should apply to renew your PR card because you do not know how long your citizenship will take. Otherwise, you can wait.
