It started from the day your application has been received by damascus office.

Check your e-cas, it says: "We received *********'s application for permanent residence on *****.

The date mentioned there is starting point.

By the way, client ID is not what you received after submitting your sponsorship application. you've got Client ID since you landed in Canada.

Yes exactly, the client ID is a one time number that is someone's digital existence in Canada. It is the 8 digits number printed on one's PR card.

I meant that you could go to e-cas and choose "client id number which is the 8 digits number on his PR card " then put your husband's info: i.e. name, date of birth, etc... You will be able to see a section about you and your sponsorship application.
In regards to the medical exam, do you have an F/b number on the sponsorship approval letter?

I checked the green sheet of medical report and in file no. box it says " visa office file no. if applicable" . So i think that redoing without file number is not a big problem.

yea true, better putting nothing then playing a guess game and placing the wrong number.

Good night and good dreams. :-*

Thx Arezou:) hope you had a good day;)

I think it is better when you yourself as sponser send them an email and ask for your file number. I think Damascus does not pay attention to lawyers.

Immigration told me that they will not respond to me, only to my husband (applicant) or to our lawyer because we signed for our lawyer to deal with them in our behalf. I would hope that they treat every case the same ..... lawyer or not! we only have a lawyer because our case is complicated and we were so confused and we didn't want to make a mistake so got a lawyer to help us. I can't wait for this craze, confusing game to be over!!!!

Yes she was.

you have an incredible memory!! Thx Arezou... I am so excited I really hope their family will be together!! I cannot wait to tell our kids their Baba is coming home! they are going to be so excited:)
I was thinking we could add a column to the chart to see who had lawyer or not, it would be interesting to see if there is a difference. I know Kamal had a lawyer and waited 20 mths.... I hope that's not the case with all lawyer files :o

We can add the chart but I do not think that having a lawyer can extend the waiting time. We also applied through our lawyer too. But my husband send Damascus emails and we got replies.

Try one time through email. I do not think that you will lose some thing. At least you will be aware about yor file situation.

I completely agree too, as a matter of fact it is completely insignificant to the process itself whether you have a lawyer or not. It might be helpful in the proper preparation of the file. Other than that, it is irrelevant, and it is also specified by the CIC that a lawyer is only a choice and doesn't hasten the process itself.

Well that's what I thought but got concerned when Arezou said I should email myself cause they don't pay attention to lawyers so I thought we were getting ignored because we have a lawyer which would mean cases with lawyers are treated difference so I got freaked out... but I hope it is the case that there is no difference :-[ off to work... have a wonderful day everyone:)

Have a great day at work and don't worry; you cannot be discriminated against because you have a lawyer or not. It is completely irrelevant; as a matter of fact, my husband and I have tried to contact them and they have never replied. So sometimes I think, they read the email if something is urgent in the case, they reply; if not, they completely ignore you. This means that if you have been ignored so far, it's good news because most likely your file is complete and is being processed normally!

Weird, I never heard of a VO before saying they flat-out will not deal with the sponsor, because it's the sponsor that can cancel the sponsorship any time and the VO will stop work on the application. Your MP certainly won't have that policy, and the VOs are *required* to reply to all ministerial inquriries to boot, preferably within a couple of days.

A+M,

Why u r so panic in getting answers? I know that all this long distance relationships is hurting u but u need to be patient!
U applied exactly 11 days after me, u r residing in Canada just like my wife and ur husband is here in Iran, right?
If ur answer to above questions is yes then ur case is similar to mine and I'm telling u that everything is normal!! We just need to wait a few more months and then all is done. If we are lucky enough we might even receive the visa before Norouz.....
