Heya! I'm currently in Canada on a visitor's visa, staying with my Canadian wife. My visa expires next month, and I've just sent in the paperwork for an extension while we wait for our Marriage Certificate, at which point I'll be applying for PR with her sponsoring me as family class.
To my understanding, this means I have "Implied Status" and may stay past my visa while I await their decision on the extension. Correct? If they say "yes," we go ahead and apply for PR, I stay in the country and then apply for another extension to stay together while my PR application is being processed? If they say "no," do I have to go back to the border or can I file for an extension again (since by that time I should have my PR application filed)?
Thanks for all help guys, these forums are fantastic!
