Congrats Tracey. You know its a good decision as you had no interview.

Cool beans!! I didn't even think of that. :)

Thanks canadausa#11

Tracy - I'm with you.
Desperate for info.. it's almost worse that we have DM but can't find out the decision!!
Curious if your sponsorship application is complete?
(Mine still says in progress - but PR status is DM)
Slightly worrisome!

Hi guys, Anybody recently sent his/her passport to CPC Ottawa for COPR and landing visa? I sent my passport 08.03.2016 but still my tracking number is not activated. Any idea? My application was outland application.

The Sponsor side still says In Process, but my PR side says Decision Made.
I read that they don't always update the Sponsor side. I wasn't too worried about it because my Sponsor was approved.
I was told that the decision made is good because an interview was not requested.
I think it's all good!!

Hi,

Decision Made on 29 February but still nothing in the mail. Is this normal? How long does it usually take for Ottawa to send the COPR after DM?

Thanks.

Also got DM Feb 29th, our Ecas updated on March 11th with 'we sent you a letter' so we're assuming that's our COPR finally being sent.

I got mine in a week, but I'm in Canada.

Update: We received COPR at our Sponsor Canadian address instead of the listed US mailing address for the Applicant on March 3. And it went to the wrong mailbox too, (thanks Canada Post!), Luckily our neighbor actually gave it to us!

We made an appointment with the London, Ontario CIC office and went there on March 11. The officer was very nice and it was a very quick process. Today we went to Service Canada to get the Social Insurance Number and that too was very quick.

Only things that remain are OHIP, which I hear is a 3 month wait until we are eligible, and importing goods from the USA, which since we landed in Canada, we don't need to present our B4 forms until we actually enter Canada from the USA (which we are planning to do in April).

Such a long process but I'm glad it's mostly over!

make sure he sets up (if he doesn't have it already) a utility bill or bank statement that is MAILED to him at your current address in ontario. OHIP is EXTREMELY strict about what proof of residence documents they will accept. They will NOT accept printed out statements from online or a bank branch, ONLY a mailed copy. They want to confirm he receives mail locally. I *think* you can go to a service ontario office and apply for it at anytime. he just won't receive the actual card/coverage until the 3 mo wait period expires.

If I am residing in Ontario and CIC mails my COPR to me at that residence would I still need something else to show Service Ontario as proof of residence in Canada?

yes, you will need something else. a COPR is not a valid proof of residency for OHIP. that is your proof of eligibility status. The service ontario website will have a list of the acceptable forms of residency. 3 items are needed (your passport and COPR are 2 of those items I believe). here's the list:
http://www.forms.ssb.gov.on.ca/mbs/ssb/forms/ssbforms.nsf/GetFileAttach/014-9998E-82~1/$File/9998-82E.pdf

like i said, they are VERY specific, and will not accept anything not on the list. i know someone who went 3 times before getting approved because they wouldn't accept a bank statement from online or stamped by the bank. so if you can get that set up NOW, i would recommend doing it. it took me 2 months to get a bank statement mailed to me from TD bank because i requested it the day after statements went out, and the bank can only send out statements once a month. it was a pain in the you know what. luckily the utility bill was easier to get in my name.

Hmm. My husband isn't going to have any bills for awhile, I imagine. Maybe when we set up his bank account (which we were gonna do right away) we'll ask them to go paper for a few months to get the statements mailed.]
