That's not very helpful is it, so you're basically left high and dry until further notice I guess.

Keep emailing ottawa, they will eventually respond. I have had received response from their office sometimes within a couple hours to a couple weeks.

I just checked my ECAS and it says Decision Made! Woo!

Timeline:
Application Received: April 29, 2015
Sponsorship Approval: May 28th, 2015 (Decision letter sent by email on June 25th)
In Process in eCAS: Noticed on August 18th, 2015 (Processing application since June 4th)
Generic email: October 23rd, 2015
Decision Made: December 6th, 2015
COPR: Hopefully ASAP!

They extended my medicals by quite a lot, thankfully, so I didn't have to be reassessed. Only three lines in my eCAS including medical results received. Hoping for more DMs for everyone still waiting!

Hi! I received the 'ready for visa' email and i just want to ask for somebodys help.. Im a little bit confused about this

a) You have to submit photos if:
o You submitted a physical paper application to one of the Case Processing Centre in Canada and your file was primarily processed there (such as the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia, the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa or the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga) or it was transferred for processing at any other offices worldwide other than the Canadian Embassy in Vienna.

b) You may not need to submit photos if:
o You submitted a physical paper application to one of the Case Processing Centre in Canada (such as the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia, or the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga) and you were informed that your file had been transferred for processing to the Canadian Embassy in Vienna.

Im from Vienna, but my application was processed in Ottawa and will be finalized here in Vienna. My question is, do I need passport-sized photos or not?

I received this exact same e-mail from Vienna and was utterly confused. Especially since my common law partner is American, and we are no longer residing in Germany...When I contacted Vienna, I received an equally confusing response back. :S

My husband officially landed and became a permanent resident! I am soooo happy this ordeal is finally over!!! I also thought I would share info that we live in Ottawa and therefore we were able to land without flagpoling. We presented ourselves at Cic office in town. The whole process took 10 minutes. Asked a few questions, gave us official paperwork and that was it!

Friends who are still waiting, be encouraged that your time will come! I wish each of you the best in this process!

Hey there - you and husband went to CIC office I read. Did you have an appointment or were you able to just walk in? If you had an appointment how long was your wait between calling and appointment day?

I am living in Canada with my spouse (in Barrie, ON) and we were wondering about whether ti's better to cross the border or to go to an office. Thanks!

"Finalised in Vienna?" ? That makes even less sense, why would Ottawa send an app back to Vienna to finalise it.

I just recieved the "ready for visa" email and it said "yourself and every family member who will accompany you"...is this only accompanying dependants on the application? My daughter and I will be accompanying my husband to Canada but we are both Canadian citizens. Later it says "...accompanying dependants on the application" but not where its requesting photocopies of passports, photos and Appendix A. Should I send it for all of us?

My husband and I received CoPR this week ;D ;D ;D!! And I'm hoping to have him land this weekend. Any tips on what we should expect/what to bring? He's been residing in Canada with me so I'm assuming we just go through the border and loop back around into Canada?

I'm assuming the COPR came in the mail?

Were you surprised by it arriving, or did you get an email notifying you and/or did your eCAS actually show decision made before it arrived?

What is your timeline? I'm curious to know when you got the generic document request email.

CONGRATULATIONS, by the way! Make sure to give us an update on how landing went.

Thank you!

Yes, the CoPR came in the mail a couple days ago. We did get a "Ready for Visa" email for PPR around the end of November and ECAS showed DM around the same time.

My understanding is that you have to call CIC and book an appointment. I called on Dec 4th and got an email last night saying that the interview is scheduled for Dec 21st. They have given me a time-slot from 830 am to 11 am (drop-in at any time during this time-slot).

What happens to your work permit once you have landed? Does the work permit get cancelled? Can you continue working till you get your PR card? Can you travel without the PR card if you are from a visa-exempt country? Or should you wait for the PR card to arrive?

I am assuming you would need your PR card on your return to Canada if you are travelling on a passport that requires a visa to enter Canada.
