Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know that I finally got my COPR on the 24th of November 2015. Just over a year of waiting but its finally here! Expiry date is 26th October 2016 so plenty of time to land.

Thanks a lot for everyone's help on this forum it has been invaluable and has helped me so much during the wait. Good luck to those still waiting, hope you hear soon!

Guys!! I got DM this morning!!

What are the next steps? My wife is Australian so I am hoping that they will not ask for her passport?

I got asked for a new medical exam. I am not happy....

Posted this in the May applicant thread but wanted to check with others - I was part of the 10/23 batch emails, and thought that I was well on my way to having my application finished, but I just received an email from CIC stating that they need my FBI clearance. Ummmm, what the hell? I am absolutely, 100% sure that I sent that in along with my application.

I'm calling in at 8:00 to figure out what the hell is going on, but am FREAKING out. Wait times for FBI certificates are 16-18 weeks, meaning if they have somehow managed to lose my original, I'll be tacking on another 5-6 months onto my application.

Any chance this is a batch email? It didn't say anything about disregarding which leads me to think that it isn't. Ugh. :(

I got this same request in a batch email on September 9. Have you seen your notes? Do they say anything about your clearance being received? I had sent mine in a few months after the rest of my application, so I had an entry in my notes where they entered that they received it. If you rely on info from the call centre, they'll likely tell you to redo it when you don't need to. They did that to me when I received a medicals request in error from the visa officer. The best way to find out, in my experience, is to reply to the email and ask. Last time I did this, I got a response on just a few hours. I'm sure it's just the 2nd batch email though.

I don't know why they choose to extend some people's medicals and others they request a new one, it certainly isn't fair. But they could be asking for it to give you a year to land.

But I don't want a year to land. :D

My original meds weren't perfect (high blood pressure), so I suspect that's why. What pisses me off is that I sent two email previously asking whether I would need to re-do them, including one over a month and a half ago and never got a response, until today when they replied to the email I sent in mid October...after they sent a separate request. I could have had this done long ago....

Hi pals,

I got DM too, just right now, checked on ECAS, it is really a very special Thanksgiving gift !!!

I am not US citizen, so I think I'd wait for a passport request (PPR), right?

Congratz to all DMs :) hope mine is on the way :D

Congrats!! Did you receive any of the batch emails??

I foolishly thought I might also be in the DM pool today, too, as a fellow US May applicant, but it is not the case :/

On the brighter side, I noticed today that the spelling of my middle name has been corrected today (as near as yesterday, it was incorrect). Surely this means somebody is playing around with my file?

Hang in there. Your application could very well (and likely is) in someone's hands right now. Sending out positive vibes that your officer is particularly adroit and issues your COPR soon.

I eagerly checked eCAS today hoping that with all the May applicants seeing DM that they might throw a [Thanksgiving turkey] bone to an April applicant, but no luck. :(
