Awesome for you guys, hope we see a lot of these posts soon

Since you are visa exempt, it is just a piece of paper that says "Confirmation of Permanent Residence" at the top, a few questions in the middle (you will have to answer these when you "land") and a spot for the Border Official to sign or stamp the paper. We also got a pamphlet with instructions on how to activate the COPR. Since you applied outland you can either make an appointment at an inland immigration office, or "flagpole" to the US and back, but you'd need a US visa to do this so this might be a hassle.

Thx for the reply Aquakitty (cool nic btw :-D)... but I am now even more confused.

Our application was sent initially to Mississauga and was then forwarded onto Ottawa... We applied Outland (altho residing in CA) as that was quicker. We were already residing before we put our application in ... so.... do we really need to land at a border somewhere although we are already here? Seems a bit daft if we do...

EDIT - Ok! So i have re-read your post, in relation to making an appointment (as this seems what we may need to do)... Are there only certain immigration offices where you can make them?, we are in Calgary. Any ideas please if you could share ??...

Thanks,

Appreciate any insight... from someone if they have gone through the same scenario...

Thanks,

No, as I said you can land at an inland immigration office. You need to make an appointment for it once you get your COPR. Landing is just a term for activating your COPR, if you try to flagpole I think you can get that "administrative rejection" at the border or else you'd need US visas.

My ECAS just changed as of a few minutes ago. The main page has shown both applications as "In Process," but my PR app just added a new line saying "We started processing XXXXXX's application on July 14, 2015." We received SA on August 12 and IP on PR app on August 6.

Mine has changed to adding dates.

Congratulation on having the dates added, but wow are those particular dates confusing.

If you do order your GCMS notes, it would be very educational to find out just what those dates mean in terms of file-processing.

Yeah, I went IP on Aug 21, but today they added that they started processing my app on April 8. That's the day it was received in Ottawa according to my notes. Confusing for sure. I know it was sitting in inventory for months after that.

Our application was also updated today and is really strange. We had 2 lines before but now a line is added between them and this is what we have:

1. We received XXX application fo rPR on November X, 2014.
2. We started processing XXX application on January X, 2015. :o
3. Medical results have been received.

We were so suprised at the date they say they started processing. We had not heard a thing between SA and an email to our lawyer two days ago asking for RPRF fee and proof I the sponsor am living in Canada. So our entire timeline is:

App Submitted: Nov 2014
SA: Jan 2015
Apparently started processing Jan 2015 but our status was App Received
Status changed to IP: August 6 2015
Email requesting RPRF and additional info August 24 2015

We are hoping for a DM soon, our medicals expire mid-late Sept 2015 so even if a DM is soon getting the COPR and landing will be tight!

I'm in a similar situation

1. We received XXX application for PR on December 16, 2014.
2. We started processing XXX application on March 18, 2015.
3. Medical results have been received.

Changed to IP 8th of August and my Medical runs out September 2nd.

What happens when it runs out? Will I get a request to get do another one or do they do extensions?

I also have a new date. App was received February 5 and they started processing April 15. That's around when I received SA I think. This means nothing to me now. Who knows how long I'll have to wait. Today is my boyfriend (sponsor's) birthday too and now I'll just be grumpy all day :(

On Aug 21, 2015 received letter from lawyer that CPC-O needs confirmation of my residency in Canada as sponsor. There was also a line at the end that stated:

**Medical examination. Please complete your immigration medical examination. If you have already passed your medical examination, please also send your medical examination form with the rest of your documents.

We were told to ignore this line as we sent the upfront medical receipt #, etc. with the initial application. Did anyone else get this on their "intent to reside" letter?

I logged into ECAS today and it stated my husband's application is "in process". So excited!

Current ECAS update:
1. Received application Feb. 19, 2015
2. Started processing on April 24, 2015
3. Medical results have been received.

Today my In Process was updated to include the second line, saying they started processing my app on May 5th. Do we have any idea yet on if the IP still means the same as what it used to? I know there's a thread on it, but it's hard to draw any conclusion from all the different VO's and timelines. I'd like to know if it still means the same specifically for Ottawa VO.

Majromax, I will be sure to share what my GCMS notes say once I get them. My dates are VERY strange. I think seeing this new line is a positive thing, because someone had to access my application to add a new line. Aren't visa officers in charge of that?
