So, wait!? You got your DM on August 1st and they mailed the COPR on July 31st?

Cool!!

That is correct! And per e-cas, they started processing my application July 29th. I never went "in process" on e-cas though. Just straight from application received to DM! :)

Oh! And I received my COPR in the mail today!!! :D

Congrats to everyone with updates from ECAS. I have been checking my ECAS every hour and so far no luck

Honestly, most updates are Tuesday and Saturday. Check it every hour if you must but it seems to do more harm than good.

I am with you Confused...I am a crazy person!!!...My two updates have been there Friday morning!!!

Yes, this is such good advice that is so difficult to follow. The most stressful portion of my application process was the time between IP and DM, and again between DM and receiving the COPR. Knowing that something should happen but hasn't yet was not a fun experience.

I would have been far happier had I been able to put the damn eCAS away and ignored it.

It's definitely not easy. I started checking ecas everyday starting like April bc DMs were starting to roll in for late 2014 applicants. So I thought I must be next! Little did I know I'd be waiting 4 more months. After we noticed the Tuesday/Saturday updates though, I started checking ecas less.
And I got sick of seeing "application received"...

Thank you! I'm glad through all the waiting I had to do, I didn't have to wait long for the COPR!

I have to concur that obsessing over the ECAS is not the healthiest way to deal with the wait. I was extremely anxious about this whole process. So anxious I didn't check anything online after we sent in the app. All I did was check the email address once in a while for updates. The last thing I saw was the SA sent to the email.

I assumed it would be months, and I knew we had no control over the outcome anymore so I just let it go and didn't worry about it. And lo and behold his COPR showed up.

While I think it's a good idea to check every few months to make sure there are no problems or errors, you have to remember unless CIC asks for something there is literally nothing you can do to speed it up, so just relax and eventually it will happen for you all too. We all did the best job we could on the application.

From what I can tell ECAS updates overnight based on the work the day before - and that's it. So any day from Tuesday through Saturday. Check it once in the morning and leave it at that. Otherwise you will drive yourself crazy.

That's pretty much what I did. After SA I just didn't check other than every 2-3 months. I assumed it would be around a year. I didn't realise people were getting decisions sooner than that. At the very end though, I was checking a couple times a day :P

We have not received official correspondence from CIC showing SA. Our ECAS still says "in process" for SA, but my permanent resident application status changed from "application received" to "in process." I need to send CPC-Ottawa my police certificate, but I don't have a UCI. I do have a file number, though. Can I, as a principal applicant with an "in process" status call CIC to ask for my UCI? What documentation do I need in order to send my police report to accompany my file? Can I just send it with a brief cover letter listing my information, including file number (no UCI)? Thanks so much everyone! :)

And....COPR!!

Applied Oct 27/2014

Additional documents request - July 28/15

Hi All...Question!

Alright so husband is American. I applied on June 1st and got a DM on July 28th for SA. When I called CIC they told me I had been approved and to wait for the letter (still waiting). Anyways, so I log on to ECas today...and it says In Process for Permanence Residence...Is that not too fast?! I'm like so confused right now!

Hey, CamL-W! Are you still waiting for the official SA correspondence? Both of our applications currently say "In Process" on ECAS. How long of a wait are most people in for once they see IP?
