If your from a visa exempt country then you don't need to send your passport. They may ask for a photocopy of the details page but thats all.
Many thanks brucem, this is really helpful. :)

They may or may not ask for another medical, it depends where you are residing but if you are from what they class as a 'low risk country' in terms of transmittable diseases they usually will grant an extension to your medical but its at the discretion of the officer processing your case. Given you are an October applicant hopefully you will get DM by July!

If you are not already in Canada remember your COPR is linked to your medical date. We got COPR beginning of May and my medical was due to expire on 26/06 - they gave us a two week extension.

Sorry I haven't a clue about the QSC!
Thank you Brucem! I hope I will get my DM by mid-July then! Fingers crossed :)

Anyone know of a method of contacting Ottawa that is faster than their e-mail CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca? They made an error on our COPR and we need to know what to do about that and they haven't responded to any our e-mails.

If its urgent then the easiest way is to contact your MP and see if they can make an enquiry on your behalf. Our in laws were able to make an appointment in a couple of days and I spoke with the assistant over the phone who contacted Ottawa right there and then. Some MP's are better than others.

MP=minister of Parliament. The MP represents your borough or town, a quick google search of the city you live in and MP should pop up the correct person, usually they have assistants that work for them , some are incompetent some are good depends on who you get. The times i contacted my MP's office i have never spoke to the actual MP just their office assistants.

Jaxxon,

I emailed them and after 2 mos my address still wasn't updated in ECAS. I also sent a change of address in ECAS itself. When my DM showed up I called the call centre to see what address it was going to, and voila! They actually had my current address as the default in their system, they just never changed ECAS to reflect this.

Give the call centre a shot, ask them if your name has been updated since it's not updated in ECAS. It may very well be:)

Thank you for your reply! I guess I shouldnt hold my breath waiting for them to change it, lol. In a way I dont really care if they do, as long as its the correct name on the COPR when its time. The emails we have recived like AOR and SA its been written in my correct name like the forms :) But I'll def call the call center to confirm it. Thanks again for your advice!

Got CPR today. :D

So I can try to book an appointment at a CIC office (I tried calling but is this next step a "getting a PR card"?).
I have a British passport so I don't need to send my passport in. Or do most people just flagpole and get their PR at a border? (I'm close to US border).

Also, do I then have to apply for an actual PR card?

**confused**

Thanks everyone here on this forum. You have all been great support during the wait.
Warm wishes to everyone here who is waiting.

Hey guys quick question? Immigration sent this: (My question is: Can I send them an email of the citation or, do they require a certified copy?) Ottawa doesn't have a phone number for me to call so just curious if anyone has been in my situation. **THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR AN FBI RECORD**

6xxxxxxx - Michelle xxxxxxxxx:
•Court record / Police report: Provide an original police report or court records Provide court documents related to your "Damage to property" conviction in the state of Arizona.
•This must be received at this office by: 2015/07/05

Please note:

All documents must be accompanied by English or French translations. When original documents are requested, notarized documents are not acceptable.

Did you apply Inland or Outland? My understanding is that the appointment booking thing is for Inland applicants, since they aren't permitted to leave Canada. Outland folks usually flagpole, especially if you're close to the border.

I don't think you have to manually apply for a PR card. The immigration officer should confirm your address and it will be mailed to you. That's my understanding so far. I'll be landing next week. Make sure your border crossing does landings.

The first PR card is sent automatically and at no cost. Renewals and replacements have to be applied and paid for.
