Thank you and it is, it is. My hubby's family is like 'you've waited a long time for this. About 2yrs or so'. I started researching the process three years ago so it's been a long road. But I'm glad to be here. ;)

Landed today!! ;D :D ;D Took about a half hour-45 minutes. The American side was funny in a way because the poor lady officer didn't know what to do since as far as she was aware she couldn't deny me entry to my country of citizenship ( like they do for people of other nationalities) so she called the Canadian side and told them I was coming. It went really well and they were impressed that I had all my paperwork and had the B4 form actually filled out prior to coming in. I actually got the 'Welcome to Canada' too :P ;) . The only question I was asked was whether I was asked to leave Canada or committed any crimes before ( I assume it's because that question is on the CoPR). They gave me some papers and that's that.

Congratulations also! That must be a HUGE relief and thanks for sharing the good news.
Nice to see some movement for Ottawa.
Haven't see any changes on the spreadsheet for a long time...

I updated mine through email. I heard back from them 7 days later saying it was updated. It showed up updated in Ecas that week.

I just sent them everything I had UCI#, App#, Sponsor name, Applicant name, DOBs etc. In a well written email.

Maria, This is very useful! Thank you very much!

Hopefully, it will start moving again. It was on fire for a while but there was a high rate of errors too from what I saw. But hopefully, it will get better as long as they don't pick up any more overflow from other VO's.

Well thats awesome blue angel . I hope things get moving again with them. My status doesn't even say in process online. I came back to the states to work even though we have bought a home. I am going to get my husband citizenship underway now for the states so we can keep our options open

Took us about 40 minutes. Had super awesome border officers. Went super smooth, had a tear in my eye as they all welcomed me to Canada!

Thank you all so much for your help and support! It has truly made the worlds difference to us!

Congratulations missmatalini and blueangel!! Excellent news!

Yeah I thought it was. She's like 'I can't deny you entry into your own country. With citizens of other countries we do. But I don't know what to do with you.' I think they must not get that situation often. We live in a small town and a fairly rural area.

Hopefully it will. The process takes way longer than it should.

Any idea on the what the turn around time is likely to be for a child to be processed through Ottawa?

My husband is sponsoring his 12 year old son from the U.S. It should be straight-forward, but I've no idea what the timeline might be?

Is it different for kids than it is for spouses? Will it really be another 18 months?

I don't know where have you seen 18 months, if it's on their website, that's not a correct number. You can check Ottawa spreadsheet, the turnover time for most straightforward applications is 6-9 months.

I am not sure is it any different for kids, but since it's the same category (spouse and/or dependent children), I believe it's the same.

This is starting to get ridiculous now.

Is there even anyone working in the ottawa office?!

Greetings all.

Can you update the spreadsheet for me please? Here are my details…

Application Received: 17 Nov 2014
AOR: 31 Jan 2015
SA: 11 Feb 2015
Medicals done: 11 Nov 2014

Requested Rome VO, but have been sent to Ottawa. This should be a good thing in most cases but comparing VO’s processing times (10 months for Rome vs 15 for Ottawa) I wonder if it really is…

I think their energies have been redirected. Looks like they're going to use the fact that they have a 15 month timeline, which was updated a few weeks ago, to their advantage. What worries me is that more and more applications are being sent to Ottawa and the queue is ever increasing, while no movement is happening. I think the days of 6-8 month approvals are over. :'(
