I hear you - I am job hunting, patiently waiting for my COPR to arrive in the US! I had to return to Vancouver, so now I have to wait for my parents to send it to me here in Canada now. If I had them send it straight to the Canadian address I probably would have had it by now ::)
Well here's to speedy COPR for you. Once mine arrives in the USA I will be driving the 6 1/2 hours back to my parents to pick it up that following weekend. As soon as I get in process or decision made in ecas I am going to start putting together my import list and start getting ready for my car to be imported. I just want it to hurry up!! Keep us updated on when you get COPR. :)

COPR arrived today! I just flew into Canada last night. I probably won't land until the end of the month or possibly thanksgiving weekend :)

Received COPR today!! :o ;D

Just talked to my Dad and he said it arrived this afternoon at my parents address in the states. He is sending it express (paying extra) to me now in Vancouver so hopefully I can land this week!

Took a total of 14 days from DM :D

Best of luck to you!!

Congrats Ally06 and tinytortoise! That is exciting news!!

If the current rate passes from ppr to copr arrival i may be planning a Thansgiving (Canadian) landing as well. That is my sons birthday weekend and we are heading back to the States anyway. I hope I get COPR by then!!

Glad to see ottawa so productive. Good luck to all still waiting!!

Got my PPR 8/30!!! ;D
Sadly didn't find it until today. Had been relying on email coming to my smartphone but in a fit of frustration (Buffy getting PPR before me :P ) I checked the web version of my email and lo and behold, it was there since 8/30. :-[
Interview waived and need to send some more supporting documents for our cohabitation for the one year, then a PP scan and off to CCP-O!

So it's okay to email the PP and supporting docs by email right? They say "send to the address below" and the email address is in the address information they referred to.

Glad I inspired you to check your email further. :P It's awesome that you got PPR as well. I emailed my info. to the email address in the correspondence from them so I imagine you could send yours there as well. Congrats on getting your PPR!!!!!! :)

newbie question, but why are meds done BEFORE submitting the application? is it necessary to include the med check in the app?

it is generally thought to speed up the process (as they don't have to request it later and wait for it to arrive) and lessen the chances of something getting lost or not added to your file. Both are pretty small concerns but if you have the ability to have the meds done around the time you will submit your file, it would be the thing to do. Note: meds expire in a year and it can take near that long to process a PR so don't get them done, then take 5 months to put your file together, then submit. But its not necessary to do them before.

There are certain medical conditions that may need to be addressed before you are approved for PR (TB, certain hernias, certain STDs, etc). Although spousal/partner sponsorship waives medical conditions of the applicant, specific medical conditions need to be addressed before approval. The sooner a MED is sent, the sooner CIC will require you to address the issues resulting in less delays. Therefore, as a standard, CIC requires you have it done before you apply and send proof of the MED with the application.

I would let your VO agent that you already had your Xray done. I did that and a week later I was requested for my passport.

Just reply to the email he sent you requesting the Xray.

See, that doesn't work for me because it specifically stated a REPEAT, rather than one all together. My meds expired in March but all they want me to renew is a chest xray. I did that back in July though so...

I emailed them before holiday:

Dear Sir or Madam:

Applicant: xxxxx
Type of App: Family Sponsorship
Date of birth: xxxx
Client ID: xxxx
File: xxxx

I am a previous May 2012 applicant turned January 2013 applicant so my resubmission has been in for 9 months.

I was told to contact CIC once August came if I had not heard anything by then. I was advised to do this by someone on the phone a couple months ago so I did and they could not give me information and told me to contact Ottawa so this is the reason behind my email aside from wanting to make sure the doctor has in fact submitted my updated Chest X Ray. I would like some kind of update on the status if I can because I can't get an update on the web service that is supplied stating my current status for me to check.

Thank you for your assistance and I hope to hear something from you soon.

Sincerely,
Applicant: xxxxx
Type of App: Family Sponsorship
Date of birth: xxxx
Client ID: xxxx
File: xxxx

...and got a reply yesterday stating:

Good day,

Everything has been received.

Thank you,

...couldn't even sign it with their name. :\ Or bother with a full reply. I'm sick of this process.

good luck every one,and thanks for all information here

Landed last night at the Peace Arch ;D so surreal! The process was very easy and took about 20 minutes. We lucked out with a friendly officer who congratulated me at the end.

Thank you to everyone for all your support and advice, I could not have done it without you.

Best of luck to all of you on the rest of your journey. Although it may not seem like it now, the day WILL come :)
