I'll be away on vacation next week (away from my usual job of hitting refresh on ECAS every 10 minutes), and so won't have the ability to update the spreadsheet. That burden will have to be on amikety's shoulders (though she's not been around much lately - are you on vacation too, amikety?). If anyone else wants to help with the editing, please gsend me a PM with your email address and I can assign you editing rights for the spreadsheet. It's not at all hard to do the editing, but if you leave the spreadsheet open so anyone can edit, it gets effed up really, really quickly...

The envelope is going to my work address, and my boss is a good and trusted friend who knows we're leaving, so I'll get her to open it when it arrives, but I am going to go absolutely effing bonkers 8) while I wait until next week!

In order to continue processing your application, the following is required:

Ø Please request your sponsor, XXXXXXXX, provide additional information regarding his employment with current company in Canada, “XXXXXX”:the company's address also appears to be your sponsor's place of residence. Provide additional information regarding place of work, purpose of company, job description, etc.

Ø Provide evidence of adequate financial arrangements for care and support (not involving social assistance) that are in place for yourself in Canada. This may include, but is not limited to, paystubs, employment letters, and tax documents including the most recent 2012 notice of assessment (T4 & NOA) for both you and your sponsor. This must be received at this office by: 2013/08/25

Ø COPY OR SCANNED IMAGE of your passport and passports of your accompanying family members, as noted below.

I got that 2 weeks ago as well. Did you submit late last year with you 2011 tax forms? Yeah now they want an update, despite our sponsors already being approved to support us ><.

I sent it in over a week ago, still no reply.

So what did you put for "adequate financial arrangements for care and support for yourself"? My current company has offices on both sides of the border and they are willing to let me transfer when PR goes through, should I put that?

To the rational person, this would not make any sense. However, we are dealing with CIC, so this wouldn't surprise me one bit. Hopefully you're all set!

Hope springs eternal. You're right that it doesn't make sense, but if that's what they did, and it means we get the COPRs next week...

Ivan, that certainly sounds like that could be it! Hoping this is the end of your long journey.

Packing, packing, husband and parents are driving to Texas from Edmonton as we speak and should be here tomorrow. We've been married for a year, and, now that we're actually going to live together, I'm starting to feel like a newlywed!

As far as how long it takes (not including poor Ivan's case) to go from PPR to COPR, we were pleased to get ours sent to the US in 23 days. We didn't send any emails or correspond with CIC until the PPR and then sent a couple of polite emails explaining my issue with my lease expiration, and the dates would indicate that they took action each time we asked. My Canadian husband is extremely business savvy and sent a very humble email to CIC, and mine was very, very polite and non-demanding, as well. I'm sure it depends on the caseworker, but, in our case, they must have taken pity on a couple of 50-somethings!

So, I just got a call from my landlord in Montreal, who is keeping an eye on our apartment until we finally finish moving there, and he said there was a brown paper envelope from the Government of Canada in our mail. Now, I did provide our my Montreal address to our VO, but I didn't say that I'd moved, or that my family had moved there, but I'm wondering if CIC - in its infinite wisdom - sent COPRs to the address where the people who need the visas are not, didn't update ECAS, and the VO is now wondering why I keep sending stern and unhappy letters. I did leave a prepaid international express mail envelope with our landlord (for other stuff I was expecting, like hydro bill, insurance cards, my permanent photo QC driver license, and other miscellaneous mail I was expecting, so I could take care of those things while I'm still in the States), and he sent me all of my mail earlier today.

Since he's already sent me all that stuff, it's too late to ask what the return address of that envelope was, but did your COPR envelopes indicate that they were from CIC, or have a return address that would indicate that they are immigration related? Other than something from CIC, is there anything a returning Canadian might get in a brown envelope from the Government of Canada other than COPRs? Is it possible this is finally ending?

I'm still flipping out because I originally got my PPR on May 8 and my ECAS status is still "Application Received". When I followed up in June, they flat out lied to me and said that they never received my passport even though I got confirmation. So, I re-sent it on June 17 and still nothing. Even when we sent a polite status inquiry we got the standard #$%* off reply.

I'm so fed up with CIC right now, but it's good to see that some people are making progress.
