Good luck Ivan!

My wife is also sending an e-mail for a status update (though nowhere near as bad as the wait you've had). We had PPR July 12th and no word since then. eCAS still says "Application Received", which concerns me since most seem to get an eCAS update to "Decision Made" in a week or so.

Has anyone from January who had PPR get an eCAS update?

Thanks

It hasn't even been two weeks yet - you're well within the "normal" range. It may even be that they've already made the decision and emailed COPR but haven't yet updated ECAS.

Eeek! PPR received TODAY! :o ;D

"In order to continue processing your application, the following is required:

Ø You have provided a copy and not the Original FBI Clearance: If your residence period in the USA has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original FBI clearance certificate. This must be received at this office by: 09/24/2013

Ø COPY OR SCANNED IMAGE of your passport and passports of your accompanying family members, as noted below."

I was worried we had not sent in the original FBI clearance and I was right >:(...luckily I have the original at my parents house (I happen to be in the US now). Am I OK to send in this original even though it is from December/expired?

Thanks!

Yeah I guess I gotta calm down a but and be patient. Do they actually notify you that COPR is going/went out?

Contact them ASAP and ask if you can send it the original letter from December.

Do they email the COPR or send it out via regular mail?

COPR gets sent out via regular mail, as you need the original document with your photo attached.

Thanks Keesio, I sent them an email (even though I received an automated reply, I think it should still reach them?) I guess I could always request a new FBI letter just in case, and include the receipt of that with the original/expired copy...

I would do three things: (1) order a new one, just in case; (2) courier the old one to CPP-O with a polite letter asking them to accept it because it was issued just before you applied (within the accepted time frame); and (3) email CPP-O explaining that you have done (1) and (2), and asking them to accept the old FBI cert that you just sent.

The hope is that they will just accept the old one because it isn't that old, but by doing all three things you will have protected yourself against further delays in (a) their response to your email and (b) the time it will take to get the new one.

I don't know why they requested yours since they last a year... But my medical expired in April - I did my medicals last year - I redid my app in Jan. I'm only asked for the chest xray - which I'm surprised about honestly. I'm also surprised they didn't request FBI too since it was expired when I sent the application. I hope they won't end up asking for that and more stuff. I figure if they needed more they would ask for everything all in one go.

I really dont know what to do.. Get medical done again? Interestingly they did not ask medical for my son who had it done same time with me last year.. In fact my FBI is older than medicals too.. This will be so long .. Just like my work permit app ..both apps r stuck.. I cant join my new job in Canada due to the strike.. Such bad luck i would say.. I can understand your situation ..

I just received my SA letter in the mail. However, unlike most cases... our visa office was assigned to be Los Angeles. So I guess I'm not under Ottawa anymore. What does this mean, anyone know? I am assuming it's a rare case... please help.

Hi Thaliada,

Did you get any more info on this? It does seem very strange to me, I am wondering why they did that. The mysterious ways of CIC never cease to amaze us!

Redid my chest Xray again today and got my extension on medicals... -_- Cost $95 only thankfully! But still, UGH. I wanted a PPR email. lol

Wonder how long it'll take. Doctor says it takes about a week for them to get it from them and all.. but have no idea how long Ottawa will take now.

It wouldn't hurt to scan and email your passport before they ask for it...

Really?? This is what they sent me... so I don't think I'd consider it a PPR?

Dear Applicant,

Please find attached your medical furtherance letter.

Odd it says the 17th when I received it on the 23rd via email.

Also if I did that.. who would I send it to? What would I say? Would I get no notification that I'm in final stages if I did? I'm so confused and now worried I'm going to be delayed months.
