It depends on how bombarded they are with applications and e-mails. It can vary from a few days to a few months... to not at all.

OMG dats scary :(

Ottawa's processing time is 13 months. Since you applied 15months ago, yes, I would be on their backs hounding them for information.

My understanding is that when Ottawa handles files for Islamabad the timeline is officially that of Islamabad.

Shylox or IvanP can you please update the spreadsheet for me? I just got my COPR in the mail today! :D

I hope you receive yours soon too. You and everyone else who have received their PPR already. Looks like Ottawa is starting to turn out more COPRs, so I doubt the wait should be too long.

hmm just emailed them now....this wait is sooo getting on my nerves....u counting from the time file is applied or transfered?? i'm counting from the time i applied....if its counted from the transfered time then it is 13.5 months.....
No rules at all if your file exceeds CPP-O processing times. You will be told your processing times is Islamabad's, if it exceeds Islamabad processing times you will be told it is just a statistic that 80% will be finished. It doesnot mean your file will be finalized!!

Yes CPP-O work on files in a bit random way. I have seen a huge variance in cases with the same regional and family condition...

said it before there is no logic, no rule, no system...

As long as there are government agencies without a system of supervision and actual feedback from the public
the corruption will rise

Reminds me of when my wife immigrated here from canada to Texas 2 years ago. The way the USCIS operates is your paperwork gets thrown in a box after its "received and processed" (ie: check cashed) and put on a shelf no matter what the order they are received. that box is picked up by an agent and they proceed to process the files out of it.

Whether that was the first box on said shelf or not doesnt really matter. they could grab a box with apps from 2012 or apps from 2009. If you get a request for more evidence (known as an RFE in US immigration lingo), your application gets put in an "On hold" pile until they receive your docs. Even then it may be some time before the agent goes to that stack.

I would guess the CIC operates in a similar manner across the board

I think I got everyone from before this, but I'm not 100% sure. I've been checking the forum less often so when I do there's always a bunch of posts to go through.

You never told us how your interview went!! Did you wow them? lol

I think you are missing Tully's Girl as she got PPR and additional documents last Friday.

I've been through the immigration process in the US too and it's exactly the same thing. They might lose and forgot your stuff but they won't lose the checks! haha

Me three :D and ditto...they never have a problem pocketing the money quickly!

On a different note :D if you are shipping your goods using company (e.g u-haul) do I need to meet them at the border? My hubby is saying I have to. I don't want to go all the way to Alberta and then go back down south to receive my goods at the border. Isn't it silly? I guess if I need to drive, driving it is! UGH!!! Horror!

Yup, missed that. Thanks for pointing it out! But a one-week delay is still better than ECAS!
