I hope I am wrong too..because my VO's time is 28 months so just imagine me :). I am pretty sure that they follow the processing time for the VO abroad though.

I just hung up with the call center and the nice lady at the end of the line confirmed to me that if my application was forwarded to Ottawa, it WILL follow Ottawa timelines.

That's great, and contradicts what other people have been saying. Time will tell, but congrats for now!

Islamabad's applicants have had their files in Ottawa collecting dust since December 2011 or January 2012 and nothing yet so I doubt it. I don't want to discourage anyone thought but I certainly would not get my hopes high as someone said ... Time shall tell.

Landing question:

I've been researching all the forms, etc. I'll need for landing, and have read the Guide for entering Canada. My question is, if I fly there to land (with my cat), do I have to then physically go to the border when all of my things arrive if I ship them? It seems that all I have to do is provide the list with whatever photos, etc. when landing (goods to follow and all of that) and they retain a copy. Can the moving company just get them through the border and to where I'll be living without me?
My other option is renting a truck and driving over 1,700 miles with all of it and the cat. Ugh.

Normally you give your paperwork to the moving company and CBSA matches it up with their records in the computer.
