Whoo hoo! Congrats!

Hello everyone. I'm an American married to a Canadian. Last April 2015 we sent in our outland sponsorship application. My wife was approved to sponsor me in about 60 days. Since then I have been checking my application status and a decision has just recently been made in Ottawa. Here is the process.

1. We received your application for permanent residence on April 28, 2015.
2. We started processing your application on July 27, 2015.
3. Medical results have been received.
4.We sent you correspondence on February 1, 2016. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

Line 4 they asked me to pay the Right to Permanent Residency Fee to continue processing. Just days after paying this fee I see in my application status a decision has been made. Not sure whats next or if it's a good thing. My med and criminal records are spotless so hoping this is good! :D

If anyone wants to help applications move faster...Ottawa is hiring Case Processing Agents

I wanted to update to everyone that I got my COPR today (Tuesday) this afternoon. It's all good! I thought maybe the envelope was too thin, but then I remembered I wasn't applying for university....

I hope to land at the Rainbow Bridge, or via appointment. I'm not sure which is better. We'd like to do it this March. It would take about 2 hours to get to the Rainbow Bridge, but we could do that any time during March Break (husband, James, is a teacher). But an appointment would save us a lot of gasoline and time... but are they typically always booked up?

Very nice James! We're still waiting for ours... although it had to go to Arizona so that's hopefully why ours is being so much slower.

still waiting on our COPR to arrive in the mail DM was made on the 11th of Feb. Hoping today it shows up

We appear to be in the same boat, 4Canucks. Waiting since DM on the 11th. I'm waiting in queue with the call center right now to see if we can get more info.

I emailed Ottawa and received the following response

Dear Sir/Madam,

Your application has been finalized and your COPRs were sent to you by regular mail on 2016/02/11 to this address:

XXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

We thank you for your patience. In order to efficiently process requests, we will not reply to duplicate emails.

Regards,

4Canucks did you use the online form to file a case specific inquiry?

https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

Or email a specific address directly?

The call center was useless, They told us to wait the 17 months listed for our application type then call again.
