Thank you very much for the advice Panamai, if it is possible to move and we do in fact need the document (For whatever reason, seeing as it was only needed in the Sponsor portion of the app and we've had SA for months now), I will. Any advice on getting my crap across the border? I'll probably be driving with my family up there so they can see me off (so the extra luggage wouldn't look odd), would I just say I'm visiting my fiance with family, or should I mention going up there to get the document for my App? Does that mean I don't need to deal with the B4 List of Goods when landing?

If it is not possible to move, am I able to have my document signed and notarized here in the States and then send it to my fiance in Canada for him to sign and have it notarized there, then send it off?

My HOPE is that they realize from my email it is a mistake and I don't have to deal with it, and my app can proceed as normal.

I can only really share my own experience on the goods thing. I think I was extremely lucky. I came with my Kia Rio packed full of stuff and no questions were asked. My Canadian spouse was driving and we have NEXUS cards if that made any difference. It's definitely a risk and I've seen different outcomes. Some people get questioned and searched and some skate through with no questions at all. I wouldn't volunteer any information unless you are asked specifically. I'd just start with "I'm here to visit my fiance" and see what questions they ask from there. I have no idea about how things work with notarizing in different countries. I haven't had to do that since I've pretty much been here in Canada the whole time. I hope you get a response on Monday and that it was just a mistake. Sorry you are having to deal with this. CIC made me cry all morning a couple of weeks ago with a mistaken email requesting medicals on my kids that I did upfront. :p Jerks.

today i checked my Ecas and it says decision made! :D

april 2nd, 2015 application received
June 28th, sponsor approval
September 26th, in process, additional proof of residence request( and we sent it in a week)
October 30th, Decision made

:) almost there!

I just got the email at 1.50am too!!! :P :P

Sure enough I got the early morning "Ready for Visa" email from Ottawa, so have had a fun morning running about getting new photos taken (what was the point in the previous 8 I sent back in February? :s ) and sending all the requested stuff express delivery to London.

So the two and a half week countdown to my flight to Vancouver is officially on :D

Thank you Panamai. I hope in my heart of hearts it was a simple mistake. I'd much rather have them say "oops" and continue with the finalization of our file then have to deal with moving this coming month on such short notice. Cross your fingers. I can't see it being anything other than a mistake since I COMBED through our app and the immigration guide many many times, I knew I didn't need that document for our app because we had no co-signer. And if they had in fact needed it, it would've been requested during the Sponsorship evaluation portion of our application, so I don't know what they're thinking. Here's hoping x_x

Its really hard to gauge, i been thru the canadian-us border usually thru air as my partner lives in Calgary and I am in Virginia and i usually never get asked many questions but for some reason this wednesday when i came up to Calgary to visit my partner for the halloween weekend, i got a diick CBSA agent he made me show him the e-ticket of my return ticket before he would let me on my way and this after telling him , i have a job in the U.S and would be working remotely while i was in Canada and that i was returning to Virginia in 6 days. It really depends on what type of agent you get, some are rather douchey and ridculious for no particular reason. I even told him my PR application is in progress and he still wanted proof of my return ticket.

Yaaaay! I've been rooting for you!

I understand. Congrats again on your DM. This weekend is nerve wracking and I wish it were over already, hah. The Doc request feels like it's such a blatant mistake, I hope they correct it without us having to do anything. I've feel I've read enough about the small mistakes CIC ends up making that I think it can just be fixed simply, god willing. I'll stay positive they respond on Monday or Tuesday. :D

Also, just to be certain, if I had already gone up there to stay for the duration of our app, and I go back over to land, it wouldn't look odd I had no B4 forms and nothing to claim as I land?

Congrats jamsham! ;D

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! I have been thinking that you and I would get our DMs around the same time with such a similar timeline. I hope I'm right. I'm feeling a little more optimistic now. :D You must be so relieved!

Congrats to all the new DMs!!
