I would try to stick with, "I hope my application doesn't take nearly a year," as far as hopes go. I would have died with stress if I had been counting from the 5 month mark (19 months is very out of the ordinary).
I agree 19 months is absolutely ridiculous, and congratulations on finally being over with that hell of a process. My fiance and I have been long distance a total of 5 out of the 8 years we've been together, so I've been dying with stress the last time I left Canada during my mini vacation to visit him for 2 weeks. I can't really do anything about the stress at this point, although most people going through this are naturally stressed from the beginning.
