It's possible they sent your application to LA which would explain the delay. Hopefully not, but its what they did to mine last January 2014 and we are still waiting for finalization. >:(

And they also WON'T notify you if they did send it to LA. . .

We found out after making a call to the help center. . . that's when we got the news ours had to chucked into the LA pile. We also had a agent that knew absolutely nothing about immigration and kept telling me ALL U.S applications were processed in LA *sigh*

Aren't they sent to LA if an interview is required?

Called CIC today and my husband was approved as a Sponsor. The officer told us that the visa office in charge of sending approval notices out is backed up and thats why we weren't notified. She said that its being sent to the VO (Ottawa) and now they will be in contact with me as the applicant!

technically, yes. however, for files from the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014 there were random files that somehow got forwarded to LA without interviews being needed. no one really knows why or how, it just happened to a select few. fortunately, we haven't heard of newer applications having the same issue. it seems to be back to only files requiring interviews. fingers crossed it stays that way!

My family's got stuck at CPP-Ott for 4 months after we sent them the information they requested (additional proof of intent to reside plus visa photos (which they had apparently lost)). Never did figure out why it took so long, but we got the COPRs eventually. Maybe your VO is on maternity leave, or checked out... (...and into a psychiatric clinic...), or is playing Minecraft a lot at work instead of looking at applications? You'll probably never find out.

Oh MY GOD!!! I had resent documents too. They returned the whole thing and I had to send it with the missing signatures and it sat in the immigration 'Bermuda triangle' for 4 MONTHS until I received SA, coincidentally the day after my hubby called to investigate the issue. And mine was an outland application. Odd that it was the same length of time. Maybe it's the same officer or some unwritten rule or something since the situations are almost identical.

Is there a phone number to call Ottawa at all?

Except that this happened to us at the PPR stage, i.e. when it takes most people only a month to get their COPR back. I think it's just a matter of luck.

Maybe. I hope it doesn't get stuck again. My meds are almost expired. I'm thinking that my hubby should call them and check on it. At the very least we'll get GCMS notes.

Sounds great. I had some good news today also. LA VO called requesting an updated photo ( since the one submitted 18 months ago they say is now out-dated) and advised that they will issue my COPR docs as soon as they receive my new photo. It's a relief to know the end of this process is near, after being delayed 12 months for no good reason.

Thanks. I am happy that I was able to stay in Canada during the processing time by way of visitor extension visas so at least we were able to be together all this time. Nevertheless, l feel that the long delays were unnecessary and the LA VO continues to be notoriously slow and uncommunicative.

My ECAS was changed to "decision made " when I checked Saturday.
