Yes. I'll wait for the response from CIC to my email request first. I'll give it a couple weeks. If nothing happens by then, I'll take some serious actions! hehe.

Yeah, it's been 11 months and no updates. I think my app has been transferred to LA. If that has happened, my timeline would be 26 months now!?!?!?!

I don't think I can survive another 15 months of waiting.

your notes will tell you for sure if it's been transferred, and maybe some insight as to why. let us know what you find out!

I would order the notes immediately. CIC does not always reply to email request. I have emailed twice, with no word, but it could (nudge) bring your case to someone's attention there.

How long does it take to get the note? A month?

Hi everyone:

A somewhat silly question. Ottawa has asked me to send more pictures and they say:

"Please submit the documents as soon as possible by MAIL in a single package "

Do they mean by US mail only, or can I send it FedEx??

Thanks Cam

Hum... why does it matter what service you use to deliver what they want? I think the keypoints are "get them the pictures they want" and "to be delivered ASAP".

Yes thirty days. I started the process last week, but changed my mind.

No you can send it by whatever method you want, they just mean don't email the pictures to them, I think.

Agree w zarilenth, I'd interpret it to mean any kind of mailing service (vs email or fax) ie fedex, ups, usps should all be ok. Makes sense they would not want pictures via email or fax bc the email file would be huge and the fax would be poor resolution (also huge).

No we haven't ordered any note. Our lawyer didn't recommend doing that. Quote "Don't even think about it! It will be very suspicious"... I know it sounds stupid. But since we have signed a contract with them, so we don't want to do things around them.

I ordered them every 5-6 weeks throughout the process. I had every reason to be suspicious though... and CIC knew it already, so neither of us was surprised.

I ordered my GCMS notes today for the first time and 10 minutes later my wife gets an email from CIC requesting PPR. Coincidence?

I also noticed different UCI# than originally issued. Very strange to say the least.

From what I've heard, the notes are a totally different department. So changes are that the notes and PPR are just a coincidence. Congratulations btw, I'm from the states too and have been waiting since August.

I have not read all the posts in this thread so I apologize if it's been explained before, but why are you not surprised that it could be transferred? I am an American citizen with no criminal past and have never used social services.... And yet it has been over 9 months for me. I figured my app was pretty straight forward I literally spent months on it. I am terrified of being refused and thus separated even longer from my husband. If you ordered notes and that is how you weren't surprised, what did they say? My first set should be available in the next week hopefully.

I wouldn't be surprised if my app has been transferred because there are many red flags in our case, which I wouldn't list them all here. But we prepared our application well with lots supporting documents. What bothers me is that there's no any correspondence or update from CIC during the last 12 months.

No request for more documents, no request for interview, no request for nothing!

hi Kate,
i know it's frustrating to wait so long! it seems you are still within the 8-10 mo. range we see here for US applicants. perhaps it's a bit longer on your end because they needed to do extra checks? who knows really! from your previous post, the vo suggested you're in the final stage of determination. if it's no longer in ottawa, i believe they'd tell you in their response (based on what i've read on here from other posters)... so i would think that response is encouraging and you are close to the end. my fingers are crossed for you! definitely let us know if your notes reveal some insight about the lenght of your application. maybe it will tell you if they experienced any delays. wishing you the best of luck!

Thank you. I still can't believe it as I was not anticipating this request for another 2 months. Hopefully yours comes soon.
