CONGRATULATIONS OKLANDMAN!

Hi all,

Just a little update here from my case (May 2013 applicant). I finally got in touch with someone from the MPs office after 2 weeks of phone tag. The conversation was not what I expected it to be. I was yelled at and told that I ruined/delayed my processing time because I ordered GCSM notes back in January. The person told me I had to contact the MPs office first before ordering notes. The person also told me that US cases are NOT processed in Ottawa, rather they are sent off to US Visa Offices (LA, New York) after initially being received in Ottawa. They also said that the processing time for US outland cases is 26 months and that I cannot be helped until I am past that waiting period. Needless to say, after having this conversation, my hope has diminished. :'(

Can anyone shed light on this situation?

Thats really interesting. I have ordered GCMS notes three times already. I read in so many places that these notes don't delay your application. They are a computer system notes especially if you just order the digital copies. I know other people ordered even more than 3 times. I dont think that matters.

For people who said their decision was made on ECAS. How long did it take them to email you and how long until they sent COPR in mail?

I suspect they send it out the day or two before they update ECAS. I'm not sure on the time it will take, because it seems to vary. For us it got to us before they updated ECAS, but we live in Ottawa and it was post marked for the day before.

I also ordered my notes for my file and it did NOT delay anything. I agree with everyone else, I would file a complaint against this person. It sounds like the phone tag you played annoyed this person so they took it out on you. Don't sweat it, you will be processed before you know it. Good luck!!

Hi Everybody..!! A little update on my status, I already have COPR on hand and will drive to the nearest port of entry on the weekend..!!!
FINALLY...!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I guess Ottawa is working a bit faster this year, they emailed me last Wednesday asking if I could land before April 7 because my medicals were about to expire and to confirm my address. I replied yes and they sent me COPR the very next day..!!! I've been visiting my hubby in Calgary for like a month now so it only took like 3 business days to receive the COPR. There was no PPR, it wen't straight to COPR and my status has been updated on Ecas as well.

It will soon be your turn, be patient and the good Lord will bless you very soon with COPR.

That is wonderful! Congrats!! :D

Congrats Nortena! I've just started my process but seeing everyone getting their COPR within 8ish months makes me pretty hopeful :D

I was informed Ottawa wouldn't require an interview and I received PPR just a week ago.

My status has now changed overnight from Application Received to Decision Made! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Here's hoping things move smoothly from here for me and that my empty place in the line now quickly goes to one of you good folks still waiting!

I agree with Buffy, Cangrlusboy, we were about to order notes, but then thankfully everything went through just before we did. We were thinking about ordering the notes because ppr took so long for us and were giving it one more week...I don't know why this person would say such things, that was truly mean-spirited he/she wanted to discourage you unnecessarily and that is definitely not right. I don't know if you can report such a thing however I would word it carefully so that they don't look at you with any suspicion. Hang in there, it's tough I know, it will end soon and then landing is SO SWEET!

Congrats Shohga :) I hope you get your COPR quickly! The Ottawa spreadsheet is looking pretty good!

Would someone be able to add us to the CPP-Ottawa spreadsheet? Somewhat late to the party..

Medicals: 06/24/13
Application sent/received: 09/16/13
Sponsorship approval/AOR: 09/27/13

That's where we're at right now. Looking good in terms of hearing something in the next month or so.

That's exactly how it was for me. I got PPR, sent it in that day. Just about the next week I saw that I got Decision Made on March 1st, 2014. Because of previous plans and a flight already booked, I began "visiting" Canada on March 4th, 2014 with my Husband, as I was planning to visit him until CPR. Then my mom calls me March 6th and says my CPR was just delivered to their house in Minnesota. She rush shipped it to his address in Canada for $120 and got CPR the next day!

Everything happened SO fast!

I just got my COPR in the mail today.

I have a question about landing. I have been in Canada since Sept on a Visitors permit. I am in Oklahoma right now visiting my parents and my wife is in Canada. My wife is mailing me the COPR so I can possibly land on my return next week. My one question is my car is already in Canada. Can I land and register my car & pay GST at a later time? I think they have to inspect my car when I import it. Anyone know?

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I feel confident that PPR and COPR will arrive soon!

Best wishes to everyone waiting for COPR!!! ;)
