Sweet! Congrats!

My app (for my wife) was files just 2 weeks after yours.... praying that mine has some hope too despite the strike ...not that CIC is consistent or anything with their timelines but one can dream, right?

Mine never did say "In process", just went from "Application received" to "Decision made". Then, a few days later, it showed my address as Edmonton and my mailing address, my actual mailing address in Texas. There's really no consistency, just an indication that some sort of something is happening in our cases when it changes...

Yeah considering they asked for PPR a few days before...it makes no sense

So I just got an email from ECAS Tracker and then logged onto ECAS to confirm... My status has been changed to "Decision Made"! :o
So... For those of you that had this happen to them this way (no PPR or anything), how long am I looking at?!

Generally it seems to be mailing time to your location from Ottawa.

And I really hope that this means that other fine specimens of our vintage will start getting COPR: like fine wines that have been aged, it's time for us to get drunk.

SERIOUSLY. I won't even need to announce when I've gotten my COPR on here, because you will hear my cries of joy across Canada. Can't wait to go from this ??? to this :P :P :P.

I really can't figure out any reason for this delay. It's bizarre. At least if they said: we're waiting for security clearance, and that takes a long time (my wife's from Ukraine and lived in Russia for about a decade, so though she's got no criminal record, it'd be understandable if they did security checks and they took longer), we could know that something's being done, but it seems like they just sit on some applications.

I know...it would be nice to at least have some idea of what point they are at. I'm very grateful my husband's MP was able to give us feedback so quickly, but all there was to say is they haven't touched it yet and will be getting to it soon. Really?? Everything we sent arrived at CIC March 22nd, and it still hasn't been touched since apparently. The MP needed our Canada Post tracking number to give them, because initially CIC said they either never received it or hadn't gotten to it yet. You can imagine the heart attack we nearly had when the idea of them possibly never receiving it came up. I was hoping at least our inquiry would push things along a little since I've read on here that some people have emailed inquiries and even though never received a response back, their COPR showed up a week or two later. We'll see what happens. Our inquiry was made 3 weeks ago.

Great! Congrats and thanks for your update! You give us all hope! :)

Yeah... Spoke with my attorney this morning and she said they should have it in their office within a couple weeks for sure. She said sometimes it takes a week or two for them to mail it out after ECAS changes.

I'll be visiting my husband up in Edmonton for a month starting Friday the 5th, so my attorney said that when they receive it, they will send me an email to verify that I want it sent to that address. At which point, my husband will come back with me when I come back in August and pack me up and I'll be on my way!

Those security checks can take a really, really long time as CIC has to wait for the other governments to respond.

Did you order your GCMS notes yet? Our first set showed that all of the requested docs and passport copies had been logged by the visa officer and are marked as "received" on March 21, but that the VO hadn't yet done anything to process the application since then, and the security clearance still needed to be started. This was confirmed by our MP when he called a few weeks ago. We've ordered the notes again, but they won't arrive for another 3 weeks or so.

True, but the delay so far has been all CIC - the GCMS notes say "not started" for the security check. But other Russians who are residing in the US or are also US citizens have been processed fairly quickly by CIC, and she only lived in Ukraine as a child, so Ukraine shouldn't be an issue.

Maybe they forgot where Russia is? Send them a map with the largest country highlighted?

Congrats! I'm a Jan 7th applicant so I'm hoping they'll finally crack the January applicant freeze!
